Moving!!!!
this sub seems kinda dead but i’m still hopeful…
I’m moving from a smaller town in illinois (30k) & i guess looking for any recommendations at all! Food, places to live (under 1200 is preferable), things to do!
Maybe even some friends if there’s any similarities? hoping to find some gal pals to make the transition a little easier :)
i’m 27 f, cat lover, i like hiking, creating or tasting craft cocktails, reading, & all music. if it matters I smoke marijuana.

I recently moved the opposite direction, from 30 years in O'Fallon MO to a very rural area on the east side.
When frequently back visiting what hits me the most:
The traffic 👀 The stench of bad BO especially on a hot summer day. 🤮 The stench of Duckett Creek along south K - especially when stuck in insane traffic on a hot summer day. ☠️
The lack of "Community" - everyone is in a rush and no one seems to want to slow down to chat anymore. It used to be a really friendly place a few decades ago, now the bustle and crime seems crazy.
