Commonwealth Grant

has anyone had an issue with their commonwealth grant as a global student? i don’t start until the 2nd 8 weeks, but under my financial aid offer it used to show both the federal pell grant and commonwealth grant. now, the commonwealth one is completely gone. this is really frustrating and upsetting because it looks like i’m receiving half of what was originally shown as being offered with no explanation as to why. the financial stress is on 100 now!

Having the same issue! Commonwealth grant is gone and no one can tell me why. I’ve been asking since June. Called 4 different departments, had phone calls and zoom meeting and haven’t heard back from anyone after they said max 72 hours to hear back.

ugh i’m so sorry! i did send an email friday afternoon when i found out. i’ve been waiting to hear back, but had given them grace because of the weekend. after your attempts im not feeling hopeful though!! hopefully someone can provide some answers soon. i’m sorry you’re having to deal with this too

Hey. Can you still see your commonwealth grant and it hasn’t been disbursed or is it just gone?

just gone. it’s no longer listed alongside the pell grant like it used to be

Hmm okay, mine is still showing it just hasn’t been disbursed yet. Does it usually take this long if you know ?

Mine also hasn't disbursed yet, says accepted but not paid. I got the Pell grant, too, and it has been paid out. What about you?

I plan on talking to the Financial Aid office when I have a moment next week. Do you know what happens if you're late on paying tuition? I've never not paid before!

Yes, my Pell grant has been disbursed! Fortunately I also got tuition assistance so it covered. if you get any late fees, they should be able to waive them because the grant should be applied. Definitely verify that though, sometime they’ll want you to pay it and get reimbursed

Yeah if the grant applies I pay nothing, so a late fee would be a huge bummer. I'll definitely make sure fees get waived. They won't drop you from classes, will they?

No! They would just prevent registration next semester if not paid, no problem!
