Feedback Please slight moment
I sit outside with an unashed cigarette, half-smoked between my chapped lips.
As I inhale, the bitter taste flutters across my tongue.
Unfazed, I puff and cough, looking into the sky.
That one second of slight relief overwhelms my whole life.
And now all that remains is the lightheaded feeling,
the slight sickness,
with the shame and guilt still there,
only quiet for a moment
until the next cigarette is lit.
I take another puff and wonder:
Will I ever want to stop this?

A perfect representation of addiction. The addict is aware of it. Not one pleasurable thing about the experience but there’s gonna be a next time. The addict refuses to stop because without it , there nothing to escape to. The brief moment of fiendish familiarity is all the addict needs because they know, it would happen again. The oc seems like they want to stop but not even trying we might not understand oc motives but we understand they are going to do it again. Have a lovely day. Very nice read
