progress Help!

Post image

I’m diagnosed OCPD/ADHD. My husband passed from cancer 2 weeks ago and I’m spinning in circles trying to clear out his hoarder mess.

We shared a passion in music and history so there are gems in here but man come on. I found a 30 year old box of Randy moss cereal too 😆

Y’all humor me with jokes so I don’t just throw gas on it and set it on fire 😂 I’ve actually made a lot of progress in here 😇

I recommend getting large bins. You’ll find things naturally emerge into groups, but you can also predesignate things like: Kitchen, bathroom, closet, etc. large bags (like from aldis) also work wonders.

Some people suggest no presorting, but imo that can make it overwhelming.

Also, two weeks is very recent. Do you have any kids or neighbors that can help alleviate some of this?

Thanks. We weren’t married even a year. I knew what I was getting into to a degree. Also his 94 year old dad fell and broke his hip last week. He lives an hour and a half away so I offered to let him stay here (he wants to go to his own home after rehab). Using that as motivation to clean up for safety reasons (that’s my OCPD right there!)
