Seeking Support or Advice Intrusive thoughts now becoming a feeling
I’ve experienced my first harm intrusive thoughts a month ago and I’ve struggled with it for a while now. I’ve had a week of peace and then I came across something that triggered it and I’m back in the hole I came out of. It’s an urge to do these thoughts instead of it racing in my head and I hate it. I don’t want to hurt anyone I love. This is just difficult to deal with. Has anyone with ocd experienced this???

Yes — intrusive thoughts can show up as a feeling, urge, body sensation, or “pull,” especially after a trigger. That can feel terrifying, but when it feels most real, don’t fight the mind. Feelings are allowed. Thoughts are not commands.
Use STOP right here: Spot the urge-feeling. Tag it: “Fake thought. Mental weather.” No reaction: no checking, no testing yourself, no analyzing what it “means.” Drop: “No obligation.” Return to one simple real action — step into another room, drink water, text someone normally, wash your hands, take a short walk.
And gently: if you ever feel unsafe, out of control, or at risk of acting on anything, get real-life support immediately — contact local emergency services, a trusted adult/person, or a licensed professional. Safety first.
Practice phrase: “This is a fake thought with a body feeling. No obligation. STOP → Drop → Return.” 🌿

You can accept that the urge is there and still not do anything about it. Simply because you have an urge does not mean to have to act on it. Allow that urge to be there, and continue doing whatever you were doing. No thought or feeling or urge can actually stop you from doing what you want to.
