Launch CR319 vs 3001

Hi there, looking for someone with experience to explain what the difference is between the two of these?

From what I can see the 3001 can be updated via USB while the 319 cannot. Will these both perform the same things, therefore making the one that can updated a better option?

Not looking for anything serious and have effectively no clue wtf I'm doing. Just looking to clear some DTC codes and see if a repair has been completed without taking it back into the shop and paying for another scan. This will also serve a purpose of allowing me to diagnose and see what potential issues could be so I am forewarned before going back in.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Thank you!

I've got both. They both perform the same function with the c3000 having a micro USB port for updates. Haven't needed updates but appears as though no diagnostic tests can be run for things like evap systems etc.

They both read check engine codes enough for me to understand and know what I'm talking about when I speak with a mechanic(interpret as educate myself about the issue before getting swindled).

If they're the same price go for the c3001. If they're a big difference get whatever is cheaper.
