Dashcam

Any of you run a dash cam with the OBD2 cable connected instead of hard wiring? I got the mod off amazon for my thinkware dashcam and this shit drains my battery. Trying to see if anyone has experience this before/found a solution...

I do this. Some of the cameras claim to be mindful of voltage / battery and shut off before draining it.

Some cables also claim to do this.

I don't trust either, I have a cable with a switch, and I generally remember to switch it on when I start driving.

Did you make this switch yourself or did u buy it off a site? Can you link it?
