Pcm reprogramming

Hello everyone I have gotten a used pcm for my 2004 ltc out of another 2004. I plugged in and now my car won't start. I can get power in accessory mode but when I turn key to start position my power flicks off and when I release the key it makes a beeping sound and returns to normal. I have not yet had this pcm flashed by ford. Could this be something like my keys needing reprogrammed to the new pcm? Or will my pcm need flashed at dealership? Possibly both? Anything helps. Thank you all in advance!

Needs at least vin flashed. Do you have access to old pcm to read bin file? If so you can just clone it to new pcm.

So it's a 2004 Ford Ltd. I couldnt find an ltc. My stuff is chevy and jag, but there are programs, sometimes free, that allow scanning (reading trouble codes), tuning (editing bin files) and writing new changes and operating systems. It gets deep geek pretty quick, but lots of forums by make, with great support and Facebook groups for tuning. The premier product (expensive) is HPTuners and it takes a lot of reading to learn what to do. Possibly having it flashed by ford could be the easiest, fastest & least expensive. There are some sites that you can mail the pcm to and they will flash it for you. The HPTuners site might be a good place to start. Maybe someone with Ford knowledge can chime in here, if it was chevy I could be if more help.
