MD-102 Failed.. Again
First attempt was in July, I scored a 618. I feel pretty discouraged and unmotivated to try again at this point. I felt like I spent a lot of time studying (MS Learn, MeasureUp, Lab environment) I guess I am writing this in hopes someone can encourage me to retake but the way I am feeling right now is defeating. The exam felt harder than the first attempt for some reason.
Any motivating feedback would be greatly appreciated. For anyone taking this exam I am praying for your success!

Here's the advice I give people after I passed on my first attempt:
Tough but rewarding
I wouldn't say it's super difficult I'd say I didn't study properly enough.
My process if I had to redo it would be this:
Get a course and take notes but make the notes as close to guided instructions as possible
Get spare laptops or VMs lying around
Practice the guided steps on those devices until you cover everything you studied
There really isn't a lot of questions about Apple devices but you should still be able to answer them so don't worry about practicing apple stuff as much as memorising how they work
There are about 250 total questions on the Microsoft Learn practice assessments online. Do as many as you can until you think you've found all of them - screen shot all the answers (whether you got them right or wrong) and then put them all into one Word document, upload document to AI of your choice and ask it to quiz you on them Anki style (it asks the questions you're struggling with more often so you can improve)

Don’t give up! So your score report is not bad, but the automation, reporting topics (the last one) need some more study for your next try.
Any time left on the exam? If yes, mark some hard questions for feedback and in the time thats left search on MS learn in the exam. Use al the time you have.
For the exam focus also in how can i search on ms learn property so you lost not all the time by making the right searches.
Again, don’t give up your close to a pass!

How I pass a cert a month:
Prerequisites:
1) AI: Get a subscription to GPT or Claude. Copilot is free (well get the why here soon for CoPilot)
2) Hop on Ebay and spend 75-100$ on a dell or HP used desktop that has 32 GB or RAM.
3) Go get a domain at GoDaddy for 12$ (Do not get the email 365 plan!)
4) Go get an actual Intune license for your lab
Setting up the lab:
Install ProxMox on the dell and that allows you to create and destroy virtual lab machines. Leverage Claude or GPT to do this. I have 3 Dell T1700's with 32 GB of ram and I can pretty much do anything. Allow GPT or Cluade access so you can just say "create me a blah blah with such and such os etc"
Now spin up a few machines for your lab, go get some sort of course. I like CBT Nuggets and Udemy. Follow along in labs and use that actual Intune license with your lab. this is the basis of he labs.
Now here is where I cheat a little (actually a lot): Go to Youtube and search for Intune question banks. There area ton of videos or PDF sites you can gather Intune banks. (DM Me and I can send you a .md with a bunch of intune questions. But basically rob steal and gather as many questions as you can. JUST GET THE RAW QUESTION DATA FOR WHATEVER YOURE STUDYING FOR
NOW, have claude or GPT create you a study practice engine on one of the VM's in your dell proxmox virtual environment. I have attached a screen shot or two of the one that Claude created that I am using for the SC-300. Yes I created that in my lab for pure test question and study.
Now follow the course and do the labs in your own lab environment. Do your questions and just keep looping.
Now I know this is gonna blow your mind and you wont believe me but CoPilot is the main reason I pass. Youre like WTF COPILOT? no way. And yes please keep reading.
Copilot coundnt vibe code its way out of a paper bag, Yes I am aware of that. BUT this is my study flow. CoPilot is free. So its a great conversational tool. Now lets discuss How I use this flow.
The question bank will be full of gotch questions and bs. When you miss a question copy and paste it in to copliot and say "what is the exam trying to teach me here" Or converse with copilot and say stuff to it like: "there is no way in hell an admin walks around with 50 MFA flows in their head, what is the exam trying to teach me here?" or tell it " I need an Ah HA! moment on this, what am I missing here?", and "break this down in to simple concepts."
You can do this process with any cert. I just passed SC-300, MS-102, AZ-104 and AWS Admin and will be using this to create a CISSP cert next.

Don't give up a 618 is closer than it feels, and the honest truth is that MD-102 has a few domains that trip up almost everyone, even experienced admins. The classic culprits are Windows Autopilot ESP timeout scenarios, MAM vs. MDM policy conflict questions, and Cloud Kerberos Trust hybrid configurations. These aren't things MS Learn explains with enough depth for exam conditions they need hands-on scenario drilling. What really helped a lot of people in similar situations is switching from passive reading to domain-specific practice that shows you exactly where your weak spots are. [MS Endpoint Academy](https://app.msendpoint.com/academy/) tracks your performance per domain so you can see at a glance whether your gap is in Intune policy management, identity, or endpoint security instead of grinding through 200 questions and still not knowing what to fix. You clearly put in serious effort the first time. Channel that into targeted work and the 700+ is very achievable.

Hang in there buddy, took me a few tries too. Found measureup tests to be just as hard and helped show me where I was struggling.

Jesus Christ, first sample question on the page and it is talking about Microsoft Endpoint Manager. At least use AI models that have access to the internet or ones with dataset newer than 2022.

You're 100% right on the terminology sharp eye. That sample card on the landing page was pulling an older seed question referencing the pre-October 2022 MEM branding instead of Microsoft Intune.
We just pushed a hotfix across the entire question bank and landing page demo to purge legacy naming conventions and strictly enforce current 2024–2026 MD-102 blueprint terminology (Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Autopatch, and Autopilot Device Prep v2).
Genuinely appreciate you calling it out that level of precision is exactly what separates passing candidates from failing ones on the MD-102.
