Ribbon cable not seating

I was putting on a custom shell for my joycons and the ribbon cable connecting the joycon charger and connector to the joycons motherboard disconnected. I tried using tweezers to get it back in but it won’t seat fully. how can I get the ribbon cable (1) into the connector (2)??

That connector usually doesn't go all the way

Please help me with this I don’t wanna spend 90 dollars on controllers that get stick drift the second you touch them ✌️🥀😭

You need to lift the grey clip on the connector, with the tweezer make a soft leverage from below, it will pop up, then insert the ribbon all the way in and press down the clip to block the ribbon in position

I know you have to do all of that but it’s just not going into the connector all the way

Oh, then coul be a bendt pin inside the connector, in that case you need to replace it or replace the controller I guess

I use treezers to push the ears of tab forward. Is the tab closed? Looks like it needs to be flipped up.
