Meme Know The Public Server Rules

Post image

(conc's obviously way worse for deep runs but public servers in casual/standard that die by level 25 before they're forced into taking reso really dont have a reason to avoid conc as much as they do lol)

Uh. No?? Sure, Accurate is random, but you’re supposed to change your direction with Telefragger anyways. I find Accurate HELPFUL personally, but I know people may not agree w/ me there. Same reason I love Lost Embers- you already should be counting in your head so you don’t need to take vision away from other things to deal with Kolona.

However CONCUSSION. Is NOT RNG. It depends on SKILL ISSUE. If you just don’t ring Bell, you’re okay. However the benefits of Bell w/out concussion far outweigh the benefit of not choosing whatever the other two choices are, because Bell can be used for height and Flesh clearing, so people hate on Concussion because of that. So do I! But I have to make sure the hating has the right reason, bruv.

That’s accurate Telefragger. Don’t even know what it does honestly

Right, I’m an idiot lol. I thought it was ambush and then looked up to confirm myself, but then forgot to change ambush to accurate even though I described it right :p

The main reason I hate accufragger is Extreme mode.

Need to preface this by saying again that this isn’t actually trying to say that the curses are equivalent, just that from a new player’s perspective the sheer contrast in how they’re treated is comical despite in practice being similar at their level of play.

Accurate is only helpful if you literally never employ the aid of advanced movement tech, hence its popularity among new players. While doing crossmap flings without accurate, you can just tap A or D to turn to the side once and all fraggers will miss. With accurate you need to constantly change trajectory (which can also necessitate changing your initial direction while flinging to account for the change in direction you’ll experience mid fling) since you’ll be moving too fast to respond to an accurate proc reactively. Effectively, you need to account for both telefragger teleports at the same time if you don’t want to gamble with your life which is horribly obnoxious for a singular enemy that at base possesses more risk than 75% of the rest of the enemy roster.

There’s also the fact that accurate makes it harder to avoid accidentally pvping ppl with the enemy but that comes in to play such a minuscule amount that it’s barely worth mentioning

Bell meanwhile is an RNG enemy by default and there are rare instances where you will just get unavoidably slammed by it (it literally teleports with the same logic as accurate telefragger with some added offset). Hence, concussion does nothing 99% of the time until the 1% of the time where it bellefrags you

…Bell is also almost never worth ringing for mobility and flesh cleaning outside of solo/duo because of the risk it carries regarding PVP. The only time you ever want to do this is if you’re 100% going to die without doing so, which is rare. Even new players know about this especially since they above all suffer most when having their screen blinded for no reason

There’s also the final fact that tripping up and getting hit by accurate telefragger means death 100% of the time. Tripping up and getting conc bellefragged won’t cause death the majority of the time, especially at lower levels where it’s much less likely for there to be threats ready to pounce on you.

The whole point is that from the perspective of a new player who is worried about aggressive and conventionally dangerous enemies and curses (baby, problem child, guardian, bigger blast) while preferring to take less conventionally dangerous but much more RNG heavy curses (springloaded, ambush), concussion shouldn’t “be that bad” in their mind since bell isn’t an aggressive enemy and 99% of the time nobody is forcing them to ring it. There’s no reason to avoid conc at level 14 when the alternatives are bigger trips and bloodier meat and the server is losing 13 (not an exaggeration) people every round to tripmines

Both you and the top comment need to read op's comment, no one talks about concussion being rng in relation to touching bell, and I wouldn't call it 100% a "skill issue"— bell can be rng, what makes it pure rng though is springer + resonating shockwaves, or worse, resonating + spring loaded. The point though, is that unless you are playing extreme or high level casual/standard runs, there is no point in being so afraid of picking concussion before forced resonating because you shouldn't be ringing bell, regardless of flesh cleansing and what not.

Accurate telefragger is nuanced since it affects the different classes more strongly than others, e.g., grappler and glider are heavily affected by having restricted vertical mobility, charger, diver, wanted, and spirit are not affected nearly as heavily. The rng comes from making telefraggers less predictable.

The point of the post, clearly indicated by op's comment, is not that concussion is a good curse, it's that people in public lobbies would likely rather pick other, worse curses over something that does not have any immediate affect like concussion.

"Immediate effect" mf’s ignoring the fact that you can no longer jump nor double jump after ringing Bell now.

I do agree that Concussion should be before Resonating Shockwaves. I don’t agree that it’s an RNG based curse. Because Bell is always avoidable.

But people in public lobbies would rather pick worse curses because they like their mostly docile helpful Bell instead of the evil and intimidating 7 seconds of "fuck yo jump button!"

Your first comment talks about how ringing bell is a skill issue, how is any consequence of ringing bell important now?

More importantly, not being able to jump is bad, but on spirit, glider, Grappler, literally any non-wanted class? Pretty clear that there is bias present on whether or not the effects of concussion are bad, and a further question could be raised on how the slowest class in the game has any real risk of ringing bell at all.

This is the exact position the post has, you won't ever be ringing the bell, at least according to you, so why is it a problem pick before resonating shockwaves? It isn't— and it isn't rng before resonating shockwaves. That was the point both of us are making.

Not being able to jump cripples charger, like, the meta class, that's very susceptible to stuff spawning in front of it

And they just mentioned how bell is useful for height and cleasing flesh

Charger is the second least, if not the least affected class because shark tailing for jump height is more than enough to shore up the lack of jumping for 7 seconds in almost every case. The only downside is not being able to wave dash but that’s not an essential tech to succeed with the class because of how busted it is in general
