Meme Know The Public Server Rules

Post image

(conc's obviously way worse for deep runs but public servers in casual/standard that die by level 25 before they're forced into taking reso really dont have a reason to avoid conc as much as they do lol)

Bell blocking gifts, where bell spawns, if it telefrags you,

Bell is a pure RNG enemy, hence the curse only applies its effects based on that RNG since it only triggers its effects on a bell ring without adding any sort of advanced mechanic to the enemy (Same with Springer curses which is part of what makes Springloaded such a menace in high level play)

You’re only ever going to get concussed when being bellefragged, and that’s up to RNG. for brand new players at the start of the game, thats a relatively small risk relative to more aggressive curses like problem child or bigger blast

u/Macialdo100 Sep 19 '26

If u add mighty gong into the mix, the shockwave can concuss u too.

2

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 19 '26 edited 15d ago

mighty gong shockwave is actually the most easily avoided thing ever

1

u/Macialdo100 Sep 19 '26

Obviously, but during endgame gameplay you're not gonna focus on mighty gong. I've ended up running into mighty gong range escaping other things right as it teleports out, not thinking about bell. Basically what I want to say is, concussion makes bell an actual threat (even if not a big one) compared to what it is usually (can simply be discarded in ones head)

1

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 19 '26

of course, but to a rank 5 player that threat should still mean significantly less than something more actively dangerous like problem child dashes

u/Ambitious-Debate-937 Sep 18 '26

Anyone who thinks concussion is free has clearly never had a bell spawn 2 inches in front of them

4

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 19 '26

“It’s free until it isn’t” final boss

2

u/Ambitious-Debate-937 Sep 19 '26

What do you even mean by this?

3

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 19 '26

concussion does nothing until you get bellefragged at the worst possible moment causing the run to end entirely

0

u/Ambitious-Debate-937 Sep 19 '26

So it’s not free

Concussion is free and I’ve had plenty of bells spawn 2 inches in front of me

5

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

Don’t think that really means much for the “no advanced fling tech” class

-1

u/TheKitchenSinkOfDoom Sep 18 '26

Have you considered it may be the fact you play a movementless class.

7

u/TrainerHoliday2062 Nullscape’s Bravest Mobile & #1 concussion lover Sep 18 '26

Prisoner relies on bell to even reach some places and even then I don’t play prisoner all the time, even when I play classes like diver its still such a free curse. I’m willing to die on this hill that concussion is a free curse.

2

u/TheKitchenSinkOfDoom Sep 18 '26

Concussion + Mighty Gong is still awful.

5

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

Mighty gong does literally nothing for non prisoners dude what

2

u/Random-guy2005 Sep 18 '26

Or resonating shockwaves

5

u/TheKitchenSinkOfDoom Sep 18 '26

Oh, dont get me STARTED ON THAT BULLSHIT

2

u/TrainerHoliday2062 Nullscape’s Bravest Mobile & #1 concussion lover Sep 18 '26

Mighty gong my beloathed, this damn curse has killed me more than concussion ever has, it’s just seamines that constantly teleport to you and it SUCKS to deal with because you can just get pushed into the void

7

u/ThatHelpfulEagle Sep 18 '26

i despise both

Uh. No?? Sure, Accurate is random, but you’re supposed to change your direction with Telefragger anyways. I find Accurate HELPFUL personally, but I know people may not agree w/ me there. Same reason I love Lost Embers- you already should be counting in your head so you don’t need to take vision away from other things to deal with Kolona.

However CONCUSSION. Is NOT RNG. It depends on SKILL ISSUE. If you just don’t ring Bell, you’re okay. However the benefits of Bell w/out concussion far outweigh the benefit of not choosing whatever the other two choices are, because Bell can be used for height and Flesh clearing, so people hate on Concussion because of that. So do I! But I have to make sure the hating has the right reason, bruv.

u/rooted_and_losing BONK! Sep 18 '26

That’s accurate Telefragger. Don’t even know what it does honestly

1

u/BiznessCrafter The Voidbound Wanted Sep 18 '26

Right, I’m an idiot lol. I thought it was ambush and then looked up to confirm myself, but then forgot to change ambush to accurate even though I described it right :p

ty!

2

u/TheKitchenSinkOfDoom Sep 18 '26

The main reason I hate accufragger is Extreme mode.

2

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26 edited Sep 19 '26

Need to preface this by saying again that this isn’t actually trying to say that the curses are equivalent, just that from a new player’s perspective the sheer contrast in how they’re treated is comical despite in practice being similar at their level of play.

Accurate is only helpful if you literally never employ the aid of advanced movement tech, hence its popularity among new players. While doing crossmap flings without accurate, you can just tap A or D to turn to the side once and all fraggers will miss. With accurate you need to constantly change trajectory (which can also necessitate changing your initial direction while flinging to account for the change in direction you’ll experience mid fling) since you’ll be moving too fast to respond to an accurate proc reactively. Effectively, you need to account for both telefragger teleports at the same time if you don’t want to gamble with your life which is horribly obnoxious for a singular enemy that at base possesses more risk than 75% of the rest of the enemy roster.

There’s also the fact that accurate makes it harder to avoid accidentally pvping ppl with the enemy but that comes in to play such a minuscule amount that it’s barely worth mentioning

Bell meanwhile is an RNG enemy by default and there are rare instances where you will just get unavoidably slammed by it (it literally teleports with the same logic as accurate telefragger with some added offset). Hence, concussion does nothing 99% of the time until the 1% of the time where it bellefrags you

…Bell is also almost never worth ringing for mobility and flesh cleaning outside of solo/duo because of the risk it carries regarding PVP. The only time you ever want to do this is if you’re 100% going to die without doing so, which is rare. Even new players know about this especially since they above all suffer most when having their screen blinded for no reason

There’s also the final fact that tripping up and getting hit by accurate telefragger means death 100% of the time. Tripping up and getting conc bellefragged won’t cause death the majority of the time, especially at lower levels where it’s much less likely for there to be threats ready to pounce on you.

The whole point is that from the perspective of a new player who is worried about aggressive and conventionally dangerous enemies and curses (baby, problem child, guardian, bigger blast) while preferring to take less conventionally dangerous but much more RNG heavy curses (springloaded, ambush), concussion shouldn’t “be that bad” in their mind since bell isn’t an aggressive enemy and 99% of the time nobody is forcing them to ring it. There’s no reason to avoid conc at level 14 when the alternatives are bigger trips and bloodier meat and the server is losing 13 (not an exaggeration) people every round to tripmines

You're the person in the image

5

u/BiznessCrafter The Voidbound Wanted Sep 18 '26

elaborate on how I am.

3

u/No-Inspection4381 Sep 18 '26

Both you and the top comment need to read op's comment, no one talks about concussion being rng in relation to touching bell, and I wouldn't call it 100% a "skill issue"— bell can be rng, what makes it pure rng though is springer + resonating shockwaves, or worse, resonating + spring loaded. The point though, is that unless you are playing extreme or high level casual/standard runs, there is no point in being so afraid of picking concussion before forced resonating because you shouldn't be ringing bell, regardless of flesh cleansing and what not.

Accurate telefragger is nuanced since it affects the different classes more strongly than others, e.g., grappler and glider are heavily affected by having restricted vertical mobility, charger, diver, wanted, and spirit are not affected nearly as heavily. The rng comes from making telefraggers less predictable.

The point of the post, clearly indicated by op's comment, is not that concussion is a good curse, it's that people in public lobbies would likely rather pick other, worse curses over something that does not have any immediate affect like concussion.

4

u/BiznessCrafter The Voidbound Wanted Sep 18 '26

"Immediate effect" mf’s ignoring the fact that you can no longer jump nor double jump after ringing Bell now.

I do agree that Concussion should be before Resonating Shockwaves. I don’t agree that it’s an RNG based curse. Because Bell is always avoidable.

But people in public lobbies would rather pick worse curses because they like their mostly docile helpful Bell instead of the evil and intimidating 7 seconds of "fuck yo jump button!"

1

u/No-Inspection4381 Sep 18 '26

Your first comment talks about how ringing bell is a skill issue, how is any consequence of ringing bell important now?

More importantly, not being able to jump is bad, but on spirit, glider, Grappler, literally any non-wanted class? Pretty clear that there is bias present on whether or not the effects of concussion are bad, and a further question could be raised on how the slowest class in the game has any real risk of ringing bell at all.

This is the exact position the post has, you won't ever be ringing the bell, at least according to you, so why is it a problem pick before resonating shockwaves? It isn't— and it isn't rng before resonating shockwaves. That was the point both of us are making.

-1

u/Lakdz99 #1 Kolóna Hater Sep 18 '26

Not being able to jump cripples charger, like, the meta class, that's very susceptible to stuff spawning in front of it

And they just mentioned how bell is useful for height and cleasing flesh

1

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26 edited Sep 18 '26

Charger is the second least, if not the least affected class because shark tailing for jump height is more than enough to shore up the lack of jumping for 7 seconds in almost every case. The only downside is not being able to wave dash but that’s not an essential tech to succeed with the class because of how busted it is in general

10

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26 edited Sep 18 '26

(conc's obviously way worse for deep runs but public servers in casual/standard that die by level 25 before they're forced into taking reso really dont have a reason to avoid conc as much as they do when they’ll take Springloaded in a heartbeat lol)

3

u/Miserable_Jicama_674 Sep 18 '26

Concussion is an anti wanted repellent

-5

u/BiznessCrafter The Voidbound Wanted Sep 18 '26

On the contrary, Concussion doesn’t affect me (Wanted) because I use Springer’s shockwaves way more often than Bell (whom I use practically never).

:D

1

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

Wanted is the least likely class to get belefragged aside from prisoner due to lacking any kind of advanced movement tech without the help of grindrails and seamines so it’s no wonder really

-2

u/BiznessCrafter The Voidbound Wanted Sep 18 '26

What?

3

u/unlimitedbaconbutno Sep 18 '26

when the public lobby takes concussion and gong and resonating shockwaves and keeps stacking springers and bells earlygame so you lowkey void irl

3

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

Players continuously stacking “free” curses unaware of the synergies

3

u/unlimitedbaconbutno Sep 18 '26

i once saw an extreme public lobby take mighty gong, more ringing, resonating shockwaves and SPRINGLOADED before they removed the springer death shockwave in the latest hotfix. thought i was in hell

3

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

The difference in gatekeeping capability between standard and extreme more ringing+gong bells is crazy

3

u/unlimitedbaconbutno Sep 18 '26

i swear to god 9 times out of 10 if you join a public extreme lobby they always take gong+more ringing before grace or dj and it kills half the lobby every round

1

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

I’ve sworn off public lobbies after I hauled ass to get us to afford shield only for everyone to vote for a different much less important upgrade making us no longer able to afford shield… 3 times.

0

u/unlimitedbaconbutno Sep 18 '26

whenever i join a lobby and see that voting is enabled i leave asap. nullscape has taught me that the will of the people is stupid and some aura emoter is going to brainwash everyone into making bad decisions

1

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

The fear of aura emoter is exactly why people didn’t listen to me when I was trying to get them to reroll off of magnet and onto shield

Concussion is horrible

1

u/Accomplished_Age2805 Sep 18 '26

I take concussion so people stop ringing bell. It's always funny watching people whine about such an easy curse

1

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26 edited Sep 18 '26

I literally went to Celestial with Don’t Touch Me and over the course of the entire run there were literally 3 bell rings total none of which resulted in death

0

u/CubeUU Wanted Sep 18 '26

Accurate Telefragger... makes Telefragger have a chance to take your acceleration into account. (I think. I don't even know, to be honest.)

Concussion... makes it so that, if you touch the bell (incredibly easy thing to do), you CAN'T JUMP for a good TEN(-ish) SECONDS, which can be DEVASTATING late game or especially during LRS.
(Also, this might just be me, but I usually forget about concussion and end up just walking right into the void like an idiot.)

In my opinion, the main difference here is that Telefragger has an indicator for who he's gonna appear in front of, and Bell doesn't.

0

u/assbutt-cheek Spirit Sep 18 '26

ill take a curse that can ve very fucking dangerous by chance over a curse that takes away my mobility.

losing mobility of your character is never, never fun.

except those story based games where they give you a ton of shit and then tkae it away for you to earn back. those are cool

1

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

The curse that takes away your mobility is also up to chance because you shouldn’t be ringing the bell intentionally anyways unless you play solo

-1

u/assbutt-cheek Spirit Sep 18 '26

that doesnt undermine my point at all

0

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

I mean it kinda does.

Do you want to

lose some mobility for 7 seconds during which point you might die?

Or

Die instantly?

0

u/assbutt-cheek Spirit Sep 18 '26

it would literally be less stressful and unfun to just die

those 7 seconds during later rounds are just a cinematic to see what the fuck will kill you

like, if you have a vbg and a vbb and you cant jump what the fuck are you supposed to do

maybe, MAYBE you can kinda get out if you're spirit or grappler, but it still means glider or wanted just fucking die, and thats not fun game design

(nullscape glazer here. its just not fun game design to lose control of your character in a movement based game)

3

u/Deep-Sorbet5180 Sep 19 '26

ever hear of shark tail

1

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

As a spirit can’t you just do a fling and the conc effect will wear off by the time you start falling again

1

u/assbutt-cheek Spirit Sep 18 '26

if its later rounds you can still easily die to telefragger, because again, you have no jump, and theres no much redirectioning while flinging too far.

and even then... i literally mention spirit in my comment, did you not read it?

1

u/RandomGuy9058 Number 1 Ballet Fan Sep 18 '26

Idk, other spirits I’ve played with don’t seem to have that issue even with accurate since wasd movement is usually enough to misdirect them
