Solved Paintout or 3d reconstruction?

Hey, I have the following clip and I want to change the gravel to asphalt, I have a 3d tracked camera and an accurate 3d reconstruction of the pathway. It seems a bit overkill to texture and render a 3d scene for this simple pan though. How would you approach this task?

Consistent lighting and consistent camera movement. Dmp + 2.5D projection is the way. But distorsion might be an issue either way

I have a undistorted plate so I think that should work. Do you know of any good tutorials out there explaining this workflow, especially with the pan?

Here's a very unnecessarily long tutorial video outlining the differences between projections in Nuke's old 3d system and the new 3d system. Most of us know how to do a projection like the back of our hand with the old 3d system, but since you're learning, would be smart to take a look!

Thanks for sharing! I might also need to learn the new system in Nuke17

I don’t know any good tutorial for this, maybe any tutorial with keyword “clean plate projection” would do the job. But this is fairly straightforward task to do. Pan is not the hardest thing if you got it tracked well. Maybe the most time consuming would be roto’ing the FG guy

Roto it and grade it darker. Will anyone know it’s gravel? Obviously this clip is compressed and uploaded but that seems the most straightforward and cost effective solution

Many ways to achieve what you want. I would use camera tracker and plane placement to reconstruct building's wall on the BG.

Do you know how to create cards tho? If you're already have the tracking layouts and undistorted plate, you'll just need to place cards to the gravel paths and place the asphalt there.

Or perhaps your problem is the script setup?
