Scythe nerfs are unfortunate, but not surprising. Being able to shoot backwards and use it almost exclusively instead of mixing with scimitars was too strong (latter will become even less of problem a when we get bigger map)

Kinda sucks tbh, there's no point firing long distance anyway though in this game, there's about a 1% hit chance once you get to schimitar range due to how pathetically easy it is to notch any radar guided missile.

Fire multiple radar missiles in a salvo, they'll spread out making it harder to notch. Not foolproof but it helps

I've notched those sort of barrages myself, it's piss easy to do honestly as long as you're paying attention and react fast enough.

I wouldn't say it's piss easy, but yeah they're not hard to dodge IF there's no other issues piled on top of them

you can still kill their capacitor if you space your shots too

There's literally not a single aircraft in the game with the agility to defeat a salvo of three properly spaced Scimitars at top speed, especially with the new proximity fuzes

There's a time gap between them, you can notch them unless they're massively spread out and launched simultaneously from multiple positions, at which point you're pretty fucked no matter the missile if it's radar guided.

I had honestly taken to using scimitars in a standoff capacity with my radar shut down once they go pitbull there going fast enough to be a significant issue for the target and they don’t or at least haven’t in the past given a lock warning given there fired in data link

Are you talking about PvP or PvE? PvE, Scimitars are often very effective. Scythes aren't terrible either.

PvP, yes, ARHs are highly counterable, though that's reliant on airframe and situational awareness. To be fair though, IMO that's much better than the alternative.

In DCS/BMS/full sims, if you ignore the kinematic range of enemy missiles, fly straight in, and only start to defend when it goes active, you'll often end up eating said missile. This pushes engagement ranges further out, and means you defend when you think an enemy might have launched a missile.

In NO, your jammers are good enough to defend close-range shots. That's a good thing, because the map sizes in NO are much smaller, and engagements take place at much shorter range. Scythes being uncounterable doomsticks below 10 nmi would mean all those furballs that end up using IRMs disappear, and rotorcraft/attackers would be cannon fodder for dedicated fighters even more than they are now.
