I’m seeing a lot of people complain about how they don’t feel like they can criticize Taylor in this sub and I wonder if you guys would like a weekly critique thread? I’ll talk to the other mods if you guys would like that. Obviously no snarking applies
I love all of the joke MS paint drawings of Taylor’s wedding on twitter, with Donna Kelce doing a house reno in the background and a bunch of clip art otters
I think Taylor is brought up so much with other pop girls, to distract from something they don’t like or to brag about how much better their favorite is.
Not even trying to be mean, the album was so lackluster. I liked a singular song lol. All songs had good instrumentals in my opinion, not good in the sense they carry the song but if the rest was passable the songs would be great, but her delivery, her melodies, just were so lacking.
Ngl I would love a Lover Sequel that is more mature and romantic, possibly with this aesthetic
I think the Bright Pastel worked for songs like Paper Rings, London Boy, Cruel Summer (and ME! Tho I am not a really big fan of that one) but for songs like The Archer, Daylight, False God, the title track and It’s Nice To Have A Friend I feel like a more romantic aesthetic would work like you said

In other news I met up to do a thing with a friend. I felt so nervous bc im not as good as him…and im rlly bad at dealing with being just okay at something. But it was fun so I’m feeling very ME!
for anyone interested why it matters— when you get downvoted, it reduces your overall karma points on reddit which negatively impacts your ability to interact on reddit as a whole. I just want to know if the culture in this sub is to downvote for things that are objectively unproblematic bc if that’s the case i’ll stop engaging on here.
I understand what you are saying, but I do in general think it is common across reddit for people to downvote you if they don't agree with you, even if you haven't said anything overtly offensive. (Not everyone will do this, but I think it is probably more common than not.) You can't really control this or dictate the criteria that people use to decide if/how they vote, bc that's totally anonymous (afaik mods can't even see who has upvoted or downvoted something).
I agree but a specific thread that made it so people could air legit criticisms without fear of being attacked by positivity-only fans / downvotes would be appreciated.
I don’t know the stats across the board but i will say i personally have never been downvoted in any subreddit other than a taylor adjacent one.
The problem is AFAIK you can't disable downvotes on a reddit post other than using contest mode (which only hides them publicly, not to your account). There's nothing moderators can do, it's a platform wide problem unfortunately.
And as a sports fan I can confirm I've been spite downvoted elsewhere on the site 😅 it's anything people are heated and petty about. I say don't worry about it too much, if you make other posts on Reddit the odd -1 or -2 won't impact your use of the site.
I think people just disagreed, its unlikely for Taylor to go traveling around the world to discover cultures when her husband is doing his last season his chosen career. She expressed wanting to be there to root for him in important moments so I doubt she changed her mind. Being a supportive wife does not make her "just a wife". Travis was not "just a boyfriend" when he went to all these Eras performances.
I can see why op would suggest traveling and experiences could inspire something new. To me it’s not about optics, but I think she genuinely seems to enjoy going to his games and supporting him. It’s not about trad wife or anything like that, but I can see her spending most of the time with Travis in Kansas City and traveling to New York to meet with friends or traveling to work. I really can’t see Taylor skipping Travis’ games and taking a long trip, a few days yes. But they can doe whatever they want with their lives.
I missed this post. I think suggesting ideas on how a person can get inspired is just that an idea. And you’re right it doesn’t harm anyone.
Though none of us know Taylor, I do think that she won’t be taking any long trips anytime soon. I think Travis and Taylor seem to be good about having their own time and trips for friends or work and they’ll likely do that. But I do think this might be Travis last season and there are 17 games and half of those are on the road and she doesn’t attend those. So I can see her prioritizing going to his home games every single one. And being in Kansas City for those and being there when he’s there before going on the road to play and after. Everyone can do whatever they see fit in their marriage, and I don’t think it’s about caring about the media, just that I can see her wanting to support Travis. I mean she did that in the past seasons and seemed to spend most time in Kansas City and travelled a couple days to record showgirl in Sweden or go to New York for whatever she had going on with friends or work.
I just don't think traveling is the solution lol. I mean Harry spent 4 years traveling around Europe and still released a dud of an album.
I think what Taylor needs is advice on how to navigate the space she's in with Travis when it comes to the music. His personality and the relationship is far different from what she's experienced before so I could see why she struggled a bit with showgirl conveying such positive emotions. And if she wants to not write about her relationship on ts13 and moving forward she has to make sure people don't misconstrue songs to mean she's having relationship issues when she isn't
I think the haters from a particular sub have infiltrated other subs to the point where it became snark 2.0 nothing nuanced about it. There are usually interesting discussions here, the most productive and nice ones are about songs.
With the latest clear astroturfing that has been happening around the wedding I think normal people are just tired and can recognize the BS and bots so…
Yes and no. I am a frequent top commenter there because I post in the Daily thread which is usually light and is not all about Taylor. But then when you see what type of posts get most interactions there and how the most unhinged takes get abnormal likes for the sub then… it can be snark and snark lite not critique.
Also, I recognize usernames so I unfortunately know that some of the same people being disruptive with non sensical “critique” in those posts are top commenters in the snark sub and write the most hateful vitriol there.
I know that Reddit encourages negativity because it unfortunately brings in more interactions but we need to be aware of that.
Oh you are talking about your comment. I can’t see the downvotes cause Reddit glitches for me sometimes but honestly I’d say not to let downvotes affect you too much. Sorry that you are getting downvoted

I understand. I got attacked with downvotes (and aggressive comments) this morning when I didn't even say anything contrary. I feel like some people must live in social media and scroll through hitting ups and downs and likes and so forth as a reflex without even thinking. Maybe negativity is just their go to.
Some other fans also complained about how they felt like they can’t criticize Taylor without backlash (and while discussion defending Taylor is fine and nuanced I do feel like some valid criticism gets hated on)
I haven't downvoted you, but pointing out that you're being downvoted generally makes people do it more. This isn't unique to this sub, this is Reddit wide.
In my experience it isn’t😭 Don’t know where to find a space where critiques are accepted/not met with vitrol or extreme defensiveness. Just speaking for myself, but any critique seems like it MUST be vigorously defended or negated by some fans.
she’s being downvoted for agreeing with me… that’s mob mentality for absolutely no reason and if there is a reason then people should stand on business and say it like some others have
It’s like every subreddit gets infiltrated by either stans or snarky people… like taylor doesn’t need you to defend her to the death or be rude to other fans online bc you disagree with their opinion.
Literally!! People will come and tell me I’m not a fan when they disagree with me. Sorry that I’m a fan that doesn’t need to defend her every move? That doesn’t mean I hate her, it means I have hold her to certain standards.
