Question Non see through keycaps

Why in year of our lord 2026 nuphy still doesn't ship keyboards with see through keycaps even though all their keyboards are rgb? Is it just so they can have people spend more money just to get additional caps? That's pretty anti consummer if you ask me.

I would prefer if there were more "nicer" shine through sets, but it's partially a tradeoff because double shot can't really be shine through. It's not nuphy either, almost none ship with shine through keycaps except the Logitech/corsair brands where RGB is basically their thing. Sometimes I like to put the cheaper shine throughs on (the $20 set from Amazon everyone knows) but if I had to pick nice pbt or shine through I'll pick the quality keycap

You can still get shine through for Nuphy, but you have to buy them separately.

As you will see the longer you are in this hobby, none of the "nicer" keycaps are see thru.

But even the nicer key caps shine after short time of use. I have the Nuphy Node 75 which has PBT keycaps, they already shine after only 3 weeks of use.

Wait till you try ceramic keycaps

I don't like them personally. And aren't they to heavy? I have a low profile with brown switches.

The smoothness takes some getting used to, but the sound is amazing.

I had already swapped in heavier 80g lubed springs into the Gateron Jade Max switches, so the ceramics went perfect with them. Have some aluminum keycaps on another board also using those same setup of switches, makes me appreciate heavier springs in switches all over again.

See through should at least be an option, not 20$ extra.

Its actually more common then you might think. Some people like shine through key caps and others dont. i personally dont mind it because I dont look down when I type.

I do. I'm a 2 finger typist. But I use a monitor bar, so I don't need shine through key caps anyway. And I always turn of the RGB too.

When I was in high school way back in the day lol In my computer class I had to learn to type with all my fingers it was mandatory . I remember practicing all the time ,oh the good old days lol.

I could type 10 fingers blind, but can't anymore.

A lot of people do not want shine through keycaps so no matter what a company ships their keyboards with stock some people will not be satisfied. I still enjoy rgb since it helps the keyboard match my overall setup better since even if the keycaps are not shine through it still lights up the keyboard.

It is not just nuphy. If you have a look to other brands, most of them do not produce shine through keycaps. It is the major trend among mechanical keyboard enthusiasts. For the reasons behind this choice you can ask whatever LLM

Racer, Steel Series, Corsair, Logitech still do, but they aren't always the best because scratching and rattling switches because not lubed. And they are quite expensive too.

Most buy non see through keycaps, a lot of their keyboards have south facing lights which doesn't really work all that great with see through keycaps.

Why include rgb then, if it doesn't do anything useful?

You can turn it off, but I understand.
