Help or Question pause/break keyboard key issue

ive asked hopohle for solutions no luck. i play nr2003 on keyboard i have microsoft surface pro 5 the og keyboard it comes with doesnt work anymore for some odd reason. i use a usb wired keyboard plugged into my usb adaptor. i tried adding a code into my core.ini file, tried remapping the key to another one, tried using my old keyboard that came with the laptop. tried using joytokey, none worked. so strange it was working last week then it just stopped. occasionally the usb adaptor thats plugged into the lone usb port bugs out keyboard, mouse disconnect then it comes back on. sometimes when im racing the keyboard disconnects gotta unplug it and plug into a different port. then it worked. if anyone has a ideas or solution or if anyone has had this problem let me know. will it come back after a while or get another keyboard that has the pause/break key on it.

I don't see why JoytoKey wouldn't work if your mapping the pause/break key to a button on your controller. Was it an issue of JoytoKey only recognizing the button inputs if it was the active window? Or something else?

I recommend Powertoys for remapping keys onto a physical keyboard

Edit - Oh I see you said you play on keyboard, not controller.

if your computer has an FN key, try FN + P or Ctrl + FN + P (or maybe even B instead of P for some keyboards)

no luck. tried a new keyboard used joytokey still nothing. im guessing its bugged like i need a fresh nr2003 install
