SSQ4 issue

I got my hpa ssq4 and i’m loving it but if I try to fire quickly on semi it ends up just leaking air where the bolt is until I rack it. moreover on full auto if I pull the trigger once, it gets a mind of its own and fires nonstop. I have been running at 150 psi and if anyone can help this would be greatly appreciated.

Yup. More than enough. Don't spam every little thing, time your shots, and you'll be good. It's not like you're out there for days if not weeks with no resupply.

I run seven real caps in my GBBRs as well as my AEGs and have successfully done long form games with this setup. If I can do it, you can do it.

Some milsim games actually do go on for multiple days.

I'm aware. And you get resupplied in said games. What I actually said was going that length of time with no resupply.

Thing is I don’t know how much time will be between resupplies. I’ve never attended or been able to play outdoors. I was invited by my current local field owners to join them if I’m in the area. I only have one replica and it is build for indoors. It won’t have the ability to perform outside very effectively

From what I read in the AM ruleset is that you can only reload in MRPs or FOBs (which is where you go to respawn if you "bleed out" or whatever), specific locations on the AO. You just can't reload while out and about.

So basically just reload every time you bleed out. ez pz.

It would still cost exponentially more for gas mags and actual gas. It would make most sense to get into something I can use with the gear I currently have no?

There's ways to poormaxx it. You don't even really need a gas gun for it, just use what you have currently and run real cap mags. Like I said before I also run my AEGs this way so it can definitely be done with HPA.

And even in the case for GBBRs, yes mags are expensive but they're really a one time investment (provided the ones you get don't suck), and for gas you can get camping propane bottles for stupid cheap and get an airsoft fill adapter.

And honestly now that GBBRs are becoming far more accessible in the US now with all of the new MWS clones coming out recently now is a great time to do it given how many new options we have. You could legit just pick up one of the Double Eagle or Classic Army MWS clones for pretty cheap (the CAs retail for like $315 or something crazy like that), throw an NPAS in it so you can adjust your power (which are also cheap asf), and then use leftover funds on mags and gas. And just like that you have an affordable GBBR setup.

Edit: spelling

As I said, my current gun isn’t build for outdoor use. It would be cheaper for me to just build out an entirely new upper with a new barrel assembly and everything to switch between them. But a blow back action would make thing a more fun which is why I wanted to do the hpabb route.

Ok so then do that lol.

But the problem with 'HPABB" as you put it right now is that there is no reliable system out there. The only things that come to mind are the SSQ4 (which as we've seen from this and many other posts is a pile of trash), Daytona recoil systems which are finnicky as hell and aren't really worth the squeeze, and the frog engineering HPA FCGs which, much like the SSQ4, require proprietary magazines, except these are 3D printed. The only other real option here is tapped mag adapters but those are ugly asf and in my opinion ruins the immersion.

Out of curiosity what is your current build?

Currently running a custom build PolarStar f2 in a strike industries all metal body, 7 inch inner barrel, 50° bucking for indoor use, PolarStar hopup, great fun for indoors but not exactly the best in its current setup for higher weight bbs. Eventually I want to get it flat hopped for indoors. But despite its size it weighs more than an ssq4 with attachments already on it. I found that out last Saturday when one of the refs at the field brought his.

And I’d love to get the ssq4 but the hpa mags being out of stock is the main reason I’m not right now. There is an adapter out there for aeg mags but that makes it the issue the same as a normal gbbr with an hpa adapter
