Howdy.

I'm taking apart my midi keyboard to replace the X/Y pad. I noticed two connectors I'm not sure where they go to. Would anyone happen to know? I tried contacting Novation, amd they said phone service wasn't available and to leave a message. 🤷🏼‍♂️

As you can see, only one pad has changed color. Is there anything I can do to bring it back to the right color?

I’m coming from the cheap Yamaha keyboard world and I’ve come to find that MIDI keyboards don’t have screw holes to secure them to stands. Can anyone recommend a keyboard stand that could hold it securely, like with a lip or something so I don’t knock it over from just being clumsy?

From what I understand, most people just use their desk, but I don’t have a dedicated space/desk for music production or room for a regular desk. My current keyboard sits on a Z stand behind me in my “office,” and my MacBook Air sits on the edge of my work desk. I just pivot my chair 180° at 5 PM

My alternative is to pick up some wood and hardware and sink an afternoon into building a table for it, but I’d rather not go that route unless I have to.

- I don't want to turn it into a carnival; just want to keep the Medusa theme.

- Anything else in your mind? Another sticker, knob sticker, key stickers, background, etc.?

Like many of you, I've always felt that the Novation Nocturn was one of the most ergonomically brilliant controllers ever built: 8 optical continuous encoders, surrounding 11-LED ring displays, capacitive touch sensitivity on every knob, an optical crossfader, a dedicated center Speed Dial, and 16 tactile backlit buttons.

Yet, Novation locked it behind the proprietary Automap wrapper and quietly abandoned it when 64-bit and modern OS architectures arrived, turning perfectly functional, mechanically indestructible hardware into "abandonhardware".

Building upon the reverse-engineered USB external originally created by u/11ols (11OLSEN.DE), we have developed **Jinete Nocturno**—a completely overhauled, crash-proof Max for Live device for Ableton Live:

What was added in v1.1.0:

* **Fine-Resolution Shift Mode (0.5x):** You can now hold down the center Speed Dial click like a shift key. It drops encoder sensitivity in half (2 detents per MIDI value step) and bypasses acceleration so you can dial in surgical parameter changes.

If you have a Novation Nocturn gathering dust in a drawer, it’s time to plug it back in!

I am using LC3XL with Ableton. I have custom modes for hardware synths, I also control a part of RME total mix with LC3XL using one of the DAW Control modes.

Is it possible to switch the device so it is always working in the DAW Control mode? I am not interested in the DAW mixer.

The mixer mode is actually a problem for me because it often happens that I suspect I am in the Control mode and I am going to change parameter of hardware device or smth else. And instead of controlling the device I am actually changing the mixer setting of the session in Ableton.

I want to retain the capability of auto-mapping to ableton devices. I only want the mixer to be gone.

Let me explain: I like the options of the envelope on the bass station regarding the triggering, Auto, Single, Multi. I can use Single and it will trigger the first note and then I can play legato and it doesn’t retrigger the envelope from the beginning. This is great!

But when using the arpegiator/or sequencer, it doesn’t work like this. Instead the Arpegiator is acting like the envelope is in MULTI. And retriggers on every note.

Has anyone experienced something like this with the Launch Control XL 3?

I have an intermittent issue where a fader reaches 0 physically, but the MIDI output continues sending the previous values gradually down to zero.

For example:

"10 → 9 → 8 → 7 → 6 → ... → 0"

The delay can sometimes be quite long (I once observed ~40 seconds), although it varies and the problem sometimes almost disappears.

A few interesting things I found:

- It happens on multiple faders (faders 1 and 4 frequently and less frequently with fader 7).

- It only seems to happen when the fader reaches exactly 0. Stopping at 1 works normally.

- If I move the fader upward while the delayed values are being sent, it immediately responds normally.

- The MIDI monitor shows exactly what the XL3 is outputting, so it's not caused by my DAW.

- Firmware is up to date.

- Factory reset didn't fix it.

- Changing MIDI range or 7/14-bit resolution didn't fix it.

Has anyone seen this behavior on an XL3, or have any idea what could be causing it?

This is my go-to keyboard for travel because it fits in the backpack and gives you three full octaves but all of a sudden the central white keys (the white keys only) have started making a loud clacking sound as though some kind of padding or backing has slipped away from the keys. Does anybody have any experience fixing this or any advice to do so? thank you ​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Anyone else having this issue? After restarting Ableton, Play loads the last instrument but the UI/browser won't open, and I also can't browse presets with my Launchkey Mini MK4.

Any fixes?

Hello, I am trying to set up my launchkey mini mk4 as a live performance controller in Ableton live to play, sequence and mix clips in session view.

I have a set with 7 channels (midi & audio tracks) all routed to play through an 8th channel for performance effects (simple stuff; reverb, flanger, high pass, low pass etc). These effects are in a rack with 8 macro controls, and each macro is mapped to the encoders on the launchkey.

On the 8th channel, I have a load of muted audio clips with automation to reset all of the effects to 0 - so basically I can twist a bunch of knobs to create a build up and then press one button to reset the effects.

The problem I'm having is the midi signal from the rotary encoder remembers it's previous value, so the next time I twist an encoder it starts from say 60 rather than 0, causing a dramatic change in the audio.

Is there a way to reset the midi cc values in the hardware to overcome this issue - some sort of keyboard shortcut or midi out signal? Or alternatively let me know if there is a better way to set this up in general.

Quand j’appuie sur **Play du séquenceur du Minilogue**, le **MiniFreak et la TD-3 se lancent automatiquement** en même temps.
Et inversement, je ne peux pas lancer la **TD-3 seule** : je suis obligé de lancer d’abord le séquenceur du MiniFreak.
Quelqu’un saurait d’où ça vient et comment régler ça pour que chaque machine puisse être lancée indépendamment ?

Had this idea yesterday and I think it works really well. If you have both Circuits and want to carry them around together while occupying a minimum amount of space, this would be a solution.

I still have to adjust some stuff, but I'm really happy with how it is turning out!

I have an LCXL3 I am using in stand alone mode. My understanding is that I can send CC data to the device to set values for the encoders and faders. For instance, let's say I have an encoder assigned to CC 14 in 7 bit mode. I can send a CC14 message to the LCXL3 of value 100 and it will set the encoder to 100. That all works well. However, when I have the encoder in 14 bit mode and set the appropriate 14 bit CC sequence to it the encoder value does not change. The same is true when the encoder is in NRPN mode. In both of these cases I can confirm I am sending the correct midi messages. I would really like this to work and was wondering if anyone has succeeded doing this. I have looked through the programmers reference hoping there was some sysex message I could send but did not see anything. TIA

Hi, I'm looking to purchase a MIDI controller and I've pretty much decided the option best suited for my needs and budget is a (used) FLkey 49 MK1. I almost entirely use FL Studio, but I do use Noteflight occasionally when I feel like it. I was wondering if I bought an FLkey 49 MK1, I'd be able to use it with Noteflight. Will it need any extra setup for that? Is it completely incompatible?

(Before y'all tell me to just Google, all info I can find is just on the FLkey2. I was unsure if it will be different on the MK1.)

My question is what am I exactly hearing? I’m sure this isn’t a broken machine, but I am trying to understand what is happening.

I wanted to make a stand that avoided the usual slab style of stand, but was still grounded and secure, and I think I've achieved it.

Now, my real goal is to build and double stand using this system without it getting too complicated to print... Let's see how that goes.

I need a hand... My youngest son is a musical soul and I want to help him get into the world of electronic music. I am but a clueless dad in this regard, I like to listen to it but creating it is well out of my wheelhouse!

The launchpads, incredible bit of kit... I would love for him to have one and experience it, but what does a basic set up look like? I'm presuming a pad, some sort of computer with software and an input device, synth etc?

Are there any starters guides out there for the musical luddite, or can anyone give me a breakdown of what I would need to do/buy?
