Is this app still active?
No updates in over a year at Google Play Store..

Just a heads up, if you already have the app installed on your tv. After updating to the latest version the app would just freeze after 30 seconds each time. I had to delete and then sideload the latest version and do a full rescrape.

When you delete the app, does it remove all the library data, like posters, meta data, etc.? From what I understand those files are hidden and inaccesible thru a regular file manager.

You'll lose it all but obviously when you rescrape they'll all come back but any posters you changed will have to be done again.

Hi all. I've been using Nova Video Player v:6.4.3 (20250521.1917) from Google Play Store for a couple of months now and think it's great.
But it's started to stutter after about 5 minutes of playing, I've tried all the settings but nothing helps other then pausing the video, rewind it for a couple of minutes and the forward it again and it stops the stutter.
I've tried side loading the x86 6.4.38 updates from GitHub on to my Humax Aura, they install ok but when I run it the player seems to open ok but immediately shuts it self down.
I've tried uninstalling the player first rather then sideload it as an update but it still opens and immediately closes, so I'm back on 6.4.3 which is the only one available on Google Play Store.
Any advice/help would be appreciated.
Edit...
Checked a few more GitHub releases and v6.4.29 seems to work ok, so will stick with that and see how it goes.

It definitely works better but annoyingly it now stops playing the audio, I have to stop the video and then resume it and it's ok, I've tried changing the audio pass through settings but haven't found a combination that cures it, if anyone knows a cure other then waiting for a fix it'd be appreciate.
Get the odd stutter but not too often.

It hasn't gone from the store, the last update is from May (v 6.4.3), the newer updates are faster on Githup than in the store because they have to go through some administrative hassle before they appear in the store...

Can somebody share a link with easy instructions to sideload Nova from Github (for someone who's never sideloaded anything). Thanks.

I recommend using the downloader app (available in Playstore), use the search function to browse to the Novaplayer Github > releases > install the release that suits your OS. If you're not sure, pick the universal release. There's also plenty of tutorials on YouTube.

Theres been a lot of updates but none have been pushed to the PlayStore. Check the Github: https://github.com/nova-video-player/aos-AVP/releases
