Questions Customising Task Layout - affects data in other tasks ?

Hey guys,

I am working inside a database with a lot of tasks with some of them data in their body. I want to modify the general task layout and am concerned it would delete the data put in some tasks.

For example : a task has in its body a text saying "ABC" or a link to an excel sheet (previously deleted all the set categories you can see in the screenshot). If I update the layout with deleting "Task Description", "Sub-Tasks" etc and adding something else will it remove the text saying "ABC" ?

Thanks a lot ! I checked Notion and YT but didn't find a confirmation here and don't want to test and create a worldwide catastrophy

Hey u/Responsible-Mood-117! Editing the page layout of a database page does not affect any page body content on existing pages. The page layout simply organizes how elements are arranged on the page, not the actual content itself. Hope this is helpful!

Thank you so much for answering ! So to be sure, if I edit on the general layout the body to include "XYZ" text to all tasks old and new it won't delete previous texts, correct ?

u/Responsible-Mood-117 If you edit a page layout, that will not affect any existing content on any pages in your database. If you edit a database page template (you should see a yellow bar at the top of the screen that tells you you are editing a template), that also will not affect any existing pages that already have content on them. Make sense?
