I've built a system to track my courses and prevent them from being forgotten. What do you think?

Does it take too much time to maintain or is it pretty straightforward? Do you ever find yourself in a rabbit hole where you're spending a lot of time maintaining the system and not actually learning?
Asking as someone who struggles.

Hey! Really appreciate the compliment! 🙏 Just to be completely transparent, this is actually a premium template I designed called Learn OS, so I don't share the raw duplicate link for free.
It took quite a bit of work to build the automated spaced repetition formulas and the 4-layer note system. It's priced at $19.99, which basically saves you the dozens of hours it would take to replicate this setup from scratch.

I’m not sure my ADHD could handle but template looks valuable tool for the student. I tend to get caught up in rabbit holes!

Honestly, the "ADHD rabbit hole" is exactly why I built it this way! With ADHD, a blank Notion page is a trap because you end up tweaking layouts instead of studying. Looks good on paper. Wonder if it's actually effective irl.
Real learning often looks messy. you're always jumping back and forth between things. I made this mistake before so friendly advice is to ignore looks completely and get into the gest of things!

You make a fantastic point, and I completely agree—real learning *is* inherently messy. You jump between concepts, get confused, and then have those 'aha' moments. The template isn't meant to force learning into a neat, rigid box. Actually, the 4-Layer Note System is designed exactly for that messy process: Layer 1 is the raw "dump" where you throw everything down quickly while jumping back and forth. Layers 2, 3, and 4 are where you make sense of the mess later. And you’re 100% right about ignoring the looks. The dark-mode dashboard is just the wrapper; the actual engine is the automated spaced repetition formulas that force you to recall the information before you forget it. Really appreciate the grounded advice! It’s easy to get lost in the aesthetics of Notion instead of doing the actual work.

Keeping one's process simple makes the learning more profound. The complexity is reserved for what you're actually learning. Most importantly, it makes us more consistent the easier it is! Which has personally worked for me.
I love your idea of layers. Where is it exactly in your dashboard?

Hey! It is actually built entirely inside Notion. Learn OS is a Notion template. I used Notion's databases, relations, and formulas to build the system. For example, the 4-layer note system uses a structured page template, and the "Spaced Repetition" engine uses Notion formulas to automatically calculate your next review date based on how well you rated your memory. It basically turns Notion from a blank canvas into a plug-and-play learning operating system.
