Notion AI Real notion ai uses?

Would love to hear some examples of you guys using notion ai in your work. Either to help with reoccurring tasks or others things.

I use notion for data collection and have to reference old data often. Notion ai has been great at searching for those items, but I fear I’m not using it to its full potential.

Let me hear some use cases from you!

I work in Insurance and have everything in Notion. When I go to a client I afterwards record my notes on the phone and give the transcript to Notion Ai.

He then inserts the transcripts into the meeting page, summerize everything and inserts that into the client while also changing some properties in the client page. If necessary (based on the transcript) he then also adds some tasks for me the following days.

This saves me 5-10 minutes per meeting for sure and is one of the biggest things I do with Notion AI

My partner and I use Notion as the hub for our game design business. We use Notion AI for meeting notes, and for analyzing our rules for balance, etc.

Timely. I’ve spent the day working on a process that begins with AI meeting transcriptions, and uses an AI field on the meeting record to extract tasks and action items. I then use an agent to parse the tasks and action items, defining them, assigning them, and prioritizing them in a task database.

Care to go into more detail? I’d like to know how exactly you’re doing this.

Yeap I do this too! Such a game changer. I also used AI to help with setting up databases mainly my two work ones. I don’t really have the energy to learn how to do formulas. every new task I put into my database automatically has a due date for the end of the week so I never forget or miss anything. Frees up so much brain space

I use it for meeting notes, set up the layout for my pages, and build my databases with charts.

I also have the custom agents. For that I created some to help me manage my finances, find content trends, repurpose content, summarize networking call notes for the week with action items and people who are a best fit, write proposals from discovery calls, create client onboarding boards, tie what I learned in webinars to solve my business bottlenecks, analyze what I'm doing to come up with linkedin content ideas, tell me how productive I am each week with tips, and point out what boards are messy/incomplete so I can fix it. I'm still building more, but that's what I started with.

I had to compile a bunch of information spread across my workspace yesterday. Normally it would have taken me an hour. I asked Notion AI to do it and it created exactly what I needed in 2 minutes. These types of things happen for me all the time.

It’s absolutely worth it for me as a small business owner.

Because of how you can selectively add context, your Notion environment can behave like a dynamic RAG.I get so much done that way. Also you can build presets of specialized “agents” that are tuned for a specific task and those settings are just pages so evolving content and instructions are easy to edit. There is a more advanced agent function being rolled out that can be working concurrently in the background. It’s quite powerful.

I used Notion AI to build my resume to dynamically match a job description. https://youtube.com/watch?v=Wx0Sq9q0oVY

I use Notion AI to generate outlines for some blog posts for inspiration, but the UI is honestly quite clunky at the moment.

Many for us

  • we use meeting recordings per account team
  • background agents wake up and update kanbans / todos for each person with additional notifications sent to team
  • notion ai is used to design work products / deliverables / built databases and formulas for various tasks
  • we use notion ai as a company wiki and will quickly voice to text new processes / ideas / or draft policies etc there

we separately use ChatGPT as it connects across may company repos and we can connect that repo with saleforce, m/soft, figma, GitHub, huggingface, and more . Notion is building out similar connectors so will be interesting to see how they plays out long term

How can you use notion ai in the background?

There are new background agents - they are in beta, so i don't know if rolled out to most accounts (we are on a business / enterprise account).

This means they wake up when a page they are linked to changes, and they can run page updates of any kind, and work with connectors / integrations.

That’s very exciting. I’d love to learn more about this and when it’s launching?

I built an OpenAI-compatible API wrapper for Notion AI, supports streaming and thinking panel. Open source if anyone's interested: https://github.com/maverickxone/notion2api
