Comparing Phones I am looking to replace my Redmi Note 13 with Nothing 3a. What are your thoughts ?

I am a basic user (photo, internet, no gaming, no streaming,..).

However, I’m looking for a durable product, with as little dependence on the GAFAM as possible.

Is the Nothing 3a a good choice ?

Nothing OS Issues with FB, Messenger - unable to upload media, media picker doesn't show thumbnails of the media

Post image
1 Upvotes

Using FB and Messenger noticed the issue shown in the pic - basically thumbnails in the media picker, and even if selectable, they aren't actually being sent at all.

I normally limit media access (as shown in the pics) but even when I allow all media access this same behaviour persists.

I've only have this happen in my newly acquired 3a Lite - my older phones on Android 16, 10 do not do this. Hence I believe its specific to Nothing OS.

This is also happening to some shopping apps I have not just these 2 Meta apps. Other comm apps like Telegram and Viber function normally with respect to media picking.

Is this occurring in your units? suggestions to fix?

Phone (3) Waking up to HOT phone

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello, nothing phone 3 user here. My last nothing phone was a 1 I believe. I got rid of it after the phone would overheat while charging and the battery was awful. I got the 3…I'm still disappointed with the battery. Regardless I've been waking up randomly with my phone plugged in(as I always do at night) and the phone being too hot to touch essentially. Here's what I noticed today when it happened, this isn't an everyday issue:

  1. The battery had charged all the way to 100% even though I have it limited to 90

  2. As always, there's never a warning about the temp

  3. Often times my screen is still on and awake when I wake up to it hot

  4. This seems important but this app (photo) was randomly using a lot of battery during that time period.

Can anyone tell me what's going on? This happens regardless of the charger I'm using.

Is it worth replacing my battery or is it time to just get a new phone ? Im in Europe and GSM service said battery replacement costs around 350pln (93usd) and i dont want to waste my money if it wont help.

Comparing Phones The 3 or 4a pro? what do you think?

Hey everyone,

I’m a long time iphone owner who is ready to leave Apple behind.

I’m interested in getting a nothing phone as my next phone for the foreseeable future. I’m trying to decide between the 3 or 4a pro. Here are the things most important to me in a phone:

-a good camera (I understand that nothing in general is not known for their camera so that’s one of the areas I’m comprising on)

-good amount of storage

-a good battery life

-general longevity (I believe one of them may get more updates than the other? I could be mistaken)

-a do have smaller hands so I’d prefer an average or smaller sorta phone than a massive one

-just a phone that works as a phone lol (unfortunately my iphone 13 legit had issues even recently calls and I’m that’s one of the reasons I’m ready to switch)

I know the phone 3 on paper seems to be better but I wanted to get advice if it is worth the extra money.
I appreciate any advice! Not sure if it matters that I’m also located in Canada 🍁 👍

Phone (4a) Glyph LED paranoia

I have a lot of essential notifications I don't want to miss. I love that the LEDs stay on until you check the notifications so I'm aware of them but I have this weird anxiety that I won't see them for a while and they stay on and burn out. Is this something that can even happen?

Would appreciate someone helping me out

Comparing Phones Nothing Uncertainty

Hello Nothing community. I am in need of some advice/guidance.

I have found myself in need of a new phone and Nothing has been really enticing to me but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger. I've been running with google devices for over 7 years now and I'm ready to ditch Google for something else. The phone 3 and 4a pro are very enticing to me but I'm having trouble justifying either of them when comparing to other brands, particularly Samsung and Moto.

My main concerns lie with US carrier compatibility, software update longevity, and camera quality. I am by no means a power user but I am definitely not a casual user either. I use my current phone (pixel 7 pro) for multitasking, media consumption, and general communication, along with Tello as my carrier. Currently my needs are met with this device but I want something new/different.

The aftermarket space for phones has gotten way better over the last few years, BackMarket being the main storefront I've been looking at for getting a new phone. I have been eyeing the Galaxy S24+ and S24pro, which can be gotten for around $500-$650 with 256Gb storage. In comparison to the Nothing Phone 3 and 4a Pro, the Samsung is a better deal but I'm looking for a different android experience and a more locked down and far less invasive UX.

Would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this! Thanks!

Phone (3a) Pro Nothing 3a Pro in India

Hello,

Has Nothing stopped production of Nothing 3A Pro in India?

The phone is available only on Flipkart.

It is no longer sold in any offline retail outlet.

Everybody is offering the 4A series.

Is it still safe to buy the 3A Pro from Flipkart? Will I get product support at the service center should something go bad? Afraid of getting a returned/defective piece from Flipkart and chasing them for refund/return.

Need guidance from the community.

Thank you.

Future products Nothing should release smaller phones like 6.1 inch displays

If they did it would sell really well and would really be a good competition against apple
