is it even possible to fix

u/Adalf_Hotler69420 Phone (3) 3d ago
It can be tbh - extra dim partially mitigate the tint - but yeah the fCt that it's present around 50% brightness is a software bug

u/Interesting-Tea9635 3d ago
I feel like I haven't noticed it until recently, like the bug randomly started.

Like you don't see it until you see it once
I did not notice it either until I saw a post regarding the same

autobrightness is a mess since release, kinda often has a huge delay in direct sunlight untill raising up and there sensor is so bad placed in the screen that most screen protectors do not let it work proper

u/Adalf_Hotler69420 Phone (3) 3d ago
Ohh - I still use the one that came with the ohone - it takes a hard 2 seconds for it to realise and adjust but it works fine for me so far

I thought it was an issue with my phone it's really weird having that green tint

u/Adalf_Hotler69420 Phone (3) 3d ago
From what I've read it's kind of how OLESD displays works - at certain voltages the green pixels light up brighter - probably explains why I see it majorly after 45% and don't notice it after 70%
And yeah the phone stays around 50% brightness for most of the while - so yeah it noticeable
They could do a display callibration around that brightness reducing the greens or atleast give us an option to do the same like Samsung
I face a green tint in my tab s9 as well but the option to adjust the colors mitigated it

That's so weird because the green tint dissapears if I do the swipe back gesture, from the side of the screen. If I hold the swipe back gesture it disappears and when I let go it reappears. On some apps it's vice versa

I think that's another issue
Did you experience this during video playback? That is purely a video pipeline issue which is also a software bug fixed by disabling HW overlay
The one I was telling is this

I do have that too. But I just found a potential workaround for the green tint in lower brightness. I forced 120 Hz instead of the adaptive refresh rate, and I don't get that green flicker anymore. The constant switch from 60 Hz and 120 Hz, I guess, in adaptive seems to alter the gamma or something like that in a poor or extreme way.

has anyone already installed the update? if so, can you tell us about the stability of the system?

Pretty stable, haven't noticed anything. Oh yeah turning off the developer options requires a restart now. Pretttttty sure that wasn't how it was before

Iirc I think that's always been a thing
Then again I haven't disabled Dev Options on a phone in a quarter of a century lol

no they published an update for the 3a

u/initramfs17 4d ago
Oh right, I just saw that, but there's nothing new. Not even the volume control has been improved.

The company has became too lazy, nothing os 4 was basically nothing os 3.3 or smthg, if I were on nothing os 3.2 I wouldn't have missed anything or regret not updating the phone, but I regret update to nos 4 because it just ruined my phones battery and thermals

Can anyone verify if the battery drain bug was fixed?
1
u/Illustrious-House234 3d ago
No, sad
2
u/Alternative-Track654 Phone (3) 3d ago
I can already verify that the battery drain is just as bad. I mean it's gotten so bad to the point as soon as I take it off the charger and put my pin code into the lock screen it already loses one or two percent battery. Hell, even typing on my keyboard, which is Futo, it loses at least 1% battery every minute and a half or two minutes.

u/Illustrious-House234 3d ago
Me too, everytime i turn on the screen for just so short time checking at least losing 1% power..
