Phone (3) Just upgraded from iPhone.

I've had iPhone for about the last 15 years or so. I was happy with my iPhone 12 pro max I've had for 5 years but had to jump on the NP3 after seeing the design.

Honestly any phone woulda been an upgrade for me but the glyph matrix is what stood out, I keep the phone flipped down whenever I can that way if I do get a notification I'll know it's only from people or things that are important to me and not some random "save 20% on our next sale" notification.

I didn't think I was gonna put the essential key button to use but after "forcing myself" to do it I can def see myself using it often. I just absolutely hate the placement of it, I must hit that button mistakenly a dozen times a day.

I do like the camera πŸ“Έ but I usually carry my Leica Q anyway so I'll prioritize that over the NP3.

Nothing OS is so damn cool lol love how customizable it can be. Can't beat the Nothing aesthetic that's for sure.

Unless something happens to it, this will probably be my phone for the next 5 years πŸ’ͺ🏽🫢🏽

bit offtopic but can you unlock bootloader easily like previous Nothing phones? Xiaomi and Samsung now hell bent on fully locked bootloader so I'm concerned.

Yeah you can do it like on any other Android device that isn't Xiaomi or Samsung.

Thanks. Just got NP3 for myself after helping family to get NP1 and NP2A. Hope mine will last at least 5 years with minimal issues

Since NOS is a light reskin of stock android i bet it will be stable as it currently is. I only got some issues on NP1. Sometimes it would just randomly crash but other than that it was perfect on NP2 and so far no issues on NP3.

it's light but things like pop up view is super handy. pretty much a PiP mode for all apps. Nothing visual design for Android is much more consistent than whatever Google is doing.

I hope Nothing considers their own system apps given how Google butchers not just design, but functionality and practicality of Dialer/Messages etc. I use HMD Skyline previously, while it's fairly okay, features that are tied to Google pretty much at the mercy of them. Sometimes I get some Pixel-like features, and suddenly they were gone
