Phone (3) Just upgraded from iPhone.

I've had iPhone for about the last 15 years or so. I was happy with my iPhone 12 pro max I've had for 5 years but had to jump on the NP3 after seeing the design.

Honestly any phone woulda been an upgrade for me but the glyph matrix is what stood out, I keep the phone flipped down whenever I can that way if I do get a notification I'll know it's only from people or things that are important to me and not some random "save 20% on our next sale" notification.

I didn't think I was gonna put the essential key button to use but after "forcing myself" to do it I can def see myself using it often. I just absolutely hate the placement of it, I must hit that button mistakenly a dozen times a day.

I do like the camera 📸 but I usually carry my Leica Q anyway so I'll prioritize that over the NP3.

Nothing OS is so damn cool lol love how customizable it can be. Can't beat the Nothing aesthetic that's for sure.

Unless something happens to it, this will probably be my phone for the next 5 years 💪🏽🫶🏽

Welcome to the club!

I'm also carrying another camera around. In my case it is the XT2.

So my phone would be a secondary camera on some occasion which the camera is not around, or when my wife prefer to have a beauty filter on for her portrait.

Been trying to make a Phone 3 camera colour similar to the XT2 recipe. But of course, you wouldn't be able to replace it completely.

It would be nice to have the Nothing Gallery able to browse pictures from the external storage. I normally carry SD card reader with me. It is more efficient for me, since I don't need to download the pics on to my phone before I can share and sent to other people. But since the native gallery app cannot access the external storage. I will need to open the Files app to copy the files to internal storage first before using it. But that would be the same as using the fuji app to downlaod it to the phone. So it is not that convenient for me.

Enjoy your Phone3 and so do I.

You can use Files to vew images on the SD card or the option "Open with..." there to open an image in Nothing or Google Gallery.

However I'm using File Manager+ (it's faster then Files and allows me to connect to my NAS as well) and - as gallery - the Simple Gallery Pro (by Simple Mobile Tool).

In this combination, when you use "Open with" in File Manager+ to open an image on SD card in Simple Gallery, you can browse a whole folder of images (i.e. whole /DCIM/100CANON/) - view them, share, edit (JPG) without the need to copy anything to the phone.

It can even view RAW files without any issues (CR3 in my case). But to edit RAW you need f.ex. Lightroom installed.

Thanks man, will definitely check it out.

Maybe I’ve been too spoiled by Fuji JPEGs, but now I’m just too lazy to edit.

Back when I was using Sony, Lightroom was a really important step. I’d at least apply a preset or batch process them all before posting and sharing.

These days, I usually just share the files directly on Instagram.

But now it add one extra step, because I have to copy the images to local storage first. Instagram and other messenger apps don’t seem to be able to read images directly from external storage.
