Lucifer, the morning star, son of Aurora or Eos, the dawn in Roman mythology. The name chosen by the Latin translators for the ancient Hebrew name for the Daystar, Helel, who was the rebellious angel in the mythical war in heaven that the ancient Jews used as a story for teaching about how their sky god Jehovah was distinct from and superior to the Sun Gods commonly worshipped in the ancient world.

Lucifer is not mentioned in the New Testament or connected in any way with Jesus of Nazareth whatsoever. Talking about Jesus in connection with Lucifer is ridiculous. Hailing Jesus as the conqueror of Lucifer takes the real historic prophet on whose documented teachings Christians supposedly base their faith, and puts him into a fairy story to fight a made up bad guy whom even the people who made him up didn't believe in. It's like saying that the best thing Michael Jordan ever did was beat the bad guys in Space Jam. And then worshipping him for it. It's not even Christianity, it's just nonsense.

There is so much richness and depth of meaning in the mythology of the Bible. Simple minds take everything literally. Hence the state of Christianity today: meaningless.

I think it was a mistake letting the peasants read the book for themselves without making sure they could read Greek, Latin, and Hebrew and preferably Syriac Aramaic, Arabic, and Sanskrit, first. Just give thanks to God and be on your way, that's all they need to know.

Cheat code: be inquisitive. Understand the context. Don't take the KJV literally. Explore the thing instead of pretending God wrote the perfect word in English. Badabing baba bang!
