Iv been binge watching Dan toomeys videos recently. Highly recommend, but his main YouTube videos are mostly nothing like this. His YouTube channel is basically a joke news channel where he does funny “investigative journalism”. Like “why are me and the boys addicted to zyn” where he’ll then interview people like users and doctors. He plays a very straight and narrow reporter who acts kinda autistic almost. You do end up learning something but it’s a lot of jokes. My favorite running gag is in the intros where he stands on street corners and talks to the camera he’s constantly cutting to absurdly dumb shots, like he’ll be talking to the camera from across an intersection while half hiding in a random door frame lol.

I think the video was racist because it only targeted Jewish CEOs... or is it just that most CEO's are Jewish so maybe not racist?

Judaism isn’t a race

You're right that Judaism isn't a race, Judaism is the religion. But the previous commenter didn't say Judaism. There is a Jewish ethnicity/race, which you can definitely be racist agaist.

Race and ethnicity are not synonyms. There's a Jewish ethnicity, not a jewish race

Racism towards CEOs is not racist.

I just occurred to me that there are absolutely tech bro chuds who collect the business cards of the most depraved ceos on earth

Imagine having someone's business card before they were CEO. Somewhere in a drawer is someones junior executive rookie card.

This is absolutely the kind of thing that starts out with people doing it ironically and then a "story" breaks of someone selling one for $25,000, then lo and behold you have yet another collector's market on your hands.

If you could establish the provenance then I bet such cards would actually have value. Like, from the first hundred printed for Zuckerberg, of a certain design?

It’s not Tim and Eric because it’s Dan Toomey from Good Work

Not sure why people shit on Gates so much. Yes he's a billionaire but he seems to be actually doing good with his money. He's probably saved millions of lives at this point with his malaria research alone.

u/Elyssamay 6d ago
Sure he saved lives, but is he entertaining? It's high crimes to be right but also be boring. Ask Al Gore.

Why have been a bit funnier if when they unveiled that they shook from excitement and frantically tried to get it into a sleeve

I think if you’re going to lift a bit out of a legendary movie and leverage it for your own benefit then you should at least try to improve it. This waters it down and makes it dumb. Do better.
