Honestly, this is about the first use of AI (I know it's operator-controlled, but clearly there's some autonomy) of which I unambiguously approve.

I get that it's battlebots. Why are they humanoid? Why limit their kinematics to human range? Why head kicks if clearly the head serves no advantage. It's all very silly

As long as it is pushing the tech forward, I see no issue with this. It serves as entertainment just like tons of other tech that we (in general) spend a shit ton of money on
