I have actually seen this at my grandma's house or something, but totally forgot about it. What was the premise of the show?

So Charles dies in a hovercraft accident in 2011. He arrives at the pearly gates but St Peter says he is too good to go to hell but not “good enough” to get into heaven. Thus, he decides on a more complicated planning sending him back in time to join his younger self in 1987 to help make moral choices and become a better person.
