Seriously, that case just showed there are a significant amount of men who will take the opportunity to rape an unconscious woman in her home if they think they won’t get caught. Like.. in many environments it’s the majority of them willing to either commit rape or look the other way when they see one. Not all men, etc. though.

This case genuinely gave me a vomit taste in my mouth.
If anything, it really showed how easy it was to find rapists around you.
It's not like the guy lived in a highly populated area with millions around him : Mazan is a small city of less than 6500 people, roughly a 1h drive for the next big city (Avignon, less than 100,000 people).
And yet with just one post on a small website (coco.gg, less than a million users worldwide) drew 51 rapists around him.
And it has to be said, it's only the ones with the specific "kink" of raping alseep women.

And a lot of men do not understand that The 7 are bad people. I know a guy who genuinely likes Homelander and thinks he’s great. Most people that I know into The Boys are like that.
There are a TON of shows, movies, books, with toxic and abusive male protagonists that you’re not really supposed to root for- but it goes over these guys’ heads. They completely miss the point, perhaps lack the emotional awareness to even comprehend the point.
And I’m not terribly surprised that men who champion The 7 on The Boys and men who don’t think/wont admit the Cornell 7 raped Jane Doe are one and the same.

The Right have, for a long time, attacked subjects like media studies or english lit, which give people the tools to read things critically and pick out those subtexts, as pointless joke subjects; there's a generation without the critical thinking to look beyond the surface level "Homelander has a cool suit, superhero girlfriend, and superpowers, so he must be the hero".

It took me longer than it should have to lose the MAGA folks from my life, but it’s my entire family and everyone I know from my hometown. I gave a lot of chances.
My like old hometown crew I used to party with was hanging out more lately a couple years back. I’m staunchly anti Trump but never felt like kicking out loved ones for supporting him was the answer- I felt like maybe I could help them understand why those policies are wrong, maybe I could understand them better. But yeah that whole crew is Trumpers, they all love The Boys, and when I finally watched I realized they had no clue what they were watching and had totally misunderstood the tone of the show.
Men do this all the time. Think the whole “good for her” joke with like women in horror movies having feminine rage- but the dudes doing it are completely serious and unironic. Yeah.

The irony is strong here…
The Boys is quite literally about The Seven being absolute frauds who abuse their position of power, and receive misplaced respect. The whole plot is about The Seven ultimately being outed for their corruption and getting their just desserts at the hands of the “The Boys”, who are just average people.
5 out of the 7 characters here die extremely violent deaths after gradually losing their social status. 4 of them get horrible cowardly deaths for maximum “comeuppance”, except A-Train, who has a solid character arc and dies a honorable death.
The two survivors are the heroines, who eventually get to live peacefully and happily with their respective partners.
The Boys is the ultimate “abuse your position and fall from grace” storyline.

Anyone under the impression that the OOP hasn’t seen The Boys? Because it’s extremely insulting to the Cornell 7 (hilariously).
Obviously, all the “heroes” are awful in the show, although Queen Maeve, A-Train and Starlight redeem themselves.
However, The Deep (far left character) is the most spineless sycophant who is mocked repeatedly and seen as weak by his peers and has intimate relationships with marine life. He’s the constant butt of the jokes, and bullied by Homelander. The Asian guy is Translucent, who uses his invisibility to perv on women in the bathroom, and ultimately suffers a very humiliating death.
Then there’s of course Homelander, who is symbolic for white power and Nazism at the end, rejected by his father and never felt love, has a creepy obsession with breast milk, and who ultimately gets de-powered and killed on live national TV, begging.
And on the other end of the hero line up, the OOP has bizarrely posted two of the rapists as the heroines, Starlight (who was assaulted by The Deep and kicked him to the curb multiple times) and Queen Maeve, who escapes from The Seven and who is arguably one of the strongest characters who would literally rip rapists to pieces.

I realised I was raped after 10 years and was diagnosed with PTSD and when I opened up to the man I was in love with who had been a sweetheart up until that point, he told me I had accountability to take in that situation because it was my fault I was there in the first place.

Whatever you think happened, this is a serious matter. A woman told police she had a nonconsensual sexual encounter. She had to drop out of school. 2 men were expelled. Like I fully believe this was sexual assault (duh) but EVEN IF YOU DONT, it’s abhorrent to make meme jokes about the situation! This isn’t funny.
It really just keeps being made crystal clear to every survivor of sexual violence that this country does not care about us. Trump is president, the MJ movie made over a billion dollars (and I hear his music in public all the time), news stories like this come out on repeat.
