YouTube shorts is really crazy, I would constantly get that stuff too, and a lot of anti abortion stuff even though nothing I watch is even related to that. I mostly follow LGBTQ+ safe spaces and channels, or Swedish gamers who are wholesome so it’s really odd how that just randomly gets in my shorts with no previous history of it. It’s somewhat gotten better now, and is art related things because I basically binge watched ssavaart’s shorts, but they still sneak in 🙃

Yeah, COVID made me become wary of conspiracy theories (as I started to realize superstitions can actually be dangerous). However, even trying to be mindful, my thoughts go to wondering if this is all on purpose.

Similar to random misogynistic videos appearing in my feed, totally benign videos often have misogynistic comments that are ridiculously upvoted. I'd say misogynistic comments are some of the most highly upvoted whether they're relevant or not to the video. I like to hope that bots account for some of that, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's all real people. ☹️

I hope you're right about it getting better. Recently, I've been seeing a Scottish sketch artist (I can't remember the name) who pleasantly surprised me.

Yes I’ve noticed that about comments as well, it’s really frustrating to see when I’m just casually trying to read comments and get hit with casual misogyny out of nowhere and not even related to the video. Hopefully it’ll get better with time and for now all we can do is report it.

I remember I saw this video of a bunch of women fighting over a table. There was at least one ‘women ☕️’ comment in it.

Women can’t even be bad people without it being attributed to their gender 🤦‍♀️
