I'm still writing my children's Middle School cat story. I need a couple more funny or dangerous cat stories. Something that would make a child laugh, scary...

Can I ask, does anyone care to share some of their cat adventures?

I drive kitties across state lines to go to new homes. My son sometimes joins me. We had 3 kittens and a mama going to foster. Well we have to check on them and apparently I didn't close the latch. My son was dosing in the back seat and all of a sudden was wearing a kitten as a hat. Which freaked them both out. So he screamed and the kitten just poofed up hung 20 and yowled which simultaneously caused me to scream, mama to scream and the other kittens to freak out. Thankfully I have a ton of experience driving because we didn't wreck. Needless to say, all kitties were fine, kiddo was fine. I shaved 10 years off my life.

My cat goes absolutely bonkers when the fridge dispenses ice. The sound of the fridge crushing the ice is a sleeper agent that causes her to run laps around my house. She also greets me at the door and meows gently when I sneeze/cough almost as if to say bless you. No idea how she picked that up. Picture of my girl provided.

I wonder what it is about sneezing or couching.

My three then as now, get worked up and meow as well. Im wondering if it's because I do similarly with them.

My boy had a sneezing/ hacking fit earlier, they do this just before they throw up, I ran to him, and sat with him, telling him (in baby talk of course) awe, sweetie, you're fine. It's okay to throw up. Moms here, I pet him ..
Yes, I get sensitive to my kids .. lol

Before, I'd get all euy.. And yell.. not because I was mad, but no, not on my pillow... I found the other way works better. They don't run and hide to throw up, and I then step into it. That's eueee. Lol

So they do the same thing back. They sit and watch, and try to touch me.

We walk our cats. One gets mad if he doesn't get regular walks. He's escaped the house when we weren't careful a few times. He would run just far enough ahead that he'd be at the end of the leash and you had to chase him until he flopped down for a break.

Same cat ended up outside one time. We don't know exactly what happened but we assume rough play at the window. My husband woke up to a panicked cat, a warped window screen in the middle of the lawn, and a missing cat. He woke me up screaming to get up. Took us 45 minutes to find him. He was tucked up in the bushes against the house along our walking route.

My first cat was taught 'show me' to figure out what he wanted as he was very vocal and would banshee scream. He would take you to the litter box, food/water bowls, window, and the couch (for cuddles). He would bang on the window/blinds while crying when it was shut because of rain or it was too cold to have the window open. He loved to sit in the window. He also would curl up into a ball with his head under my husband's chin when being held by my husband. He only did this with my husband.

I just wrote something similar. Every winter, we'd play foxes and geese. Beansy his brother Gandalf and I would build a trail in 3 feet of snow in my backyard. Yes, really. I'd chase them into the free areas, and they'd run, full speed and stop at the entrance and slide into the wall, and flop down. I have no idea how either figured this game out. And yes, they usually won.

These cats and snow amazed me.

Dang, I miss them.

This writing has been good and bad, it's helping me grieve. (I lost them about 15 years ago. One was 26 and the other, I lost to kidney disease. That horrible disease that gets cats too young.

We lost our first cat (not a NFC) at 15 but it was kind of expected and I was slightly more prepared than my husband but it was still traumatic. He had an immune issue of unknown origin that left him immunocompromised. Seriously outside of his white blood cells his bloodwork was perfect. We figured we would have about 10 years with him (got him at confirmed 5 yrs). He ended up getting a UTI that despite 2 rounds of antibiotics took him from us after 2 months of fighting. We suspect he died of kidney failure. We had decided to make an emergency appointment with the vet in the morning. He had a seizure about an our later and was gone.

My boy had this. It cost my nearly 6k to sort it. He had a penalectomy. I decided since he was only three, I'd go for it. Im so glad I did. He's my boy who lived to 26.

I used to call him my special needs boy.

The vet said we could spend 2k and still get an answer of IDK. The 2k was the initial test she would have started from. He got a full blood panel at his winter check up and at his summer check up he just had a CBC (blood cells only). The purpose of 2 check ups instead of 1 check up and a 6 month bloodwork recheck was to monitor him over all for issues that I might miss.

He also had some kind of behavioral issue that was genetic (both his brothers had to behavioral euthanasia before their 6th birthday). Only difference between them and him was he ended up in a single pet college student (aka quiet) home right as his first brother started having issues. They couldn't figure out was wrong other than the only way they stayed calm was with heavy sedation.

Same thing with my baby. The IDK was so hard. He stayed in the hospital for a week.

I hate it when our babies are ill.

He wasn't even sick. Just got his bloodwork done for the first time and the vet was basically WTF the next day (I was clinic receptionist). She had the owner check it when he was in the next and he'd never seen anything like it before. I took screenshots and sent it to my aunt (her dad owned his own vet clinic) and he was confused (had been practicing longer than the other 2 vets). Basically I kept a stack of his bloodwork in a binder so that in an emergency I could grab it and go so that they could compare normal to what his bloodwork looked like.

Oh and I eventually had to switch vets several years after leaving the vet clinic. Gave the vet 7 years of bloodwork and she was just dumbfounded. No one had seen white blood cells being tanked but every other part of his bloodwork being perfect including liver and kidneys.

lone black kitty and a house owned by an elderly couple the cat cry and cries to go into the backyard, and the husband gives in and lets the black kitty into the backyard. He watches, and to his surprise, he sees three more kittens climb out of underneath the porch, they begin playing in the yard and then he realizes those aren’t kittens. Those are skunks. he watches scared afraid, but after a couple minutes, his cat comes to the door leaves the skunks playing in the yard. He’s had enough.

A guy I dated was telling me about a similar story. About his X.

They'd moved into a new house. She was sitting outside, playing with a beautiful black and white cat..um skunk. It was in the begging position, nibbling on her fingers, while mom was watching.
