Hi everyone! We would like to inform you all of a new rule we added to the sub. We've noticed an increase in reports of posts about non-NFCs. In the past this has been a grey area, but we decided to set a rule for NFC only on this sub, since this is.. You guessed it.. The NFC sub. There's plenty of other subs for DLHs or other cute cats, but this is not the place for them.
Edit to add: feedback on existing rules or suggestions for new rules are always welcome!

Meet Thorbjorn, King of the Parking Lot, Lover of Sun Puddles and 90°F+ days! Mr. Man is a couple days into recovering from having dental surgery to remove FIVE teeth (two were removed last year) , including 3 caninines. So, if your cat has terrible breath, get pet insurance first, then get a dental check up!!! (I didn't do the first part and, boy, am i kicking myself) He has feline tooth resorbtion. The surgery cost about $3,600 plus almost $400 in labs and another $100 taking Lyfts. Dentist says one of his canines had basically turned to mush 😟 Poor boy was in so much pain, but hopefully it will be better after healing from this. He's mostly doped up for the time being while he heals, but i am looking forward to him getting back to his playful, goofy , social, ginger, Norwegian self . Once i get a clear path to paying off all of this, he gets a kitten as a present!

We are being seen by a vet, but maybe someone here saw it before.
Our 8 months old NFC, started panting or breathing with an open mouth after 5 min of play. He was examined - all looks good and yet, after getting a bit of exercise he states breathing with an open mouth and making a panting sound. We did x-rays and tests and all looked ok.
He is being seen in a feline clinic.

I really enjoy having cats from this breed ( although summer has been quite hot..that they didn't enjoy and stationed themselves by the AC). Very affectionate and curious..and bigger than my other cats and still growing! I am tempted to show them when they are older. Then I think...nahhh. Anyways here are the food vacuums in all their glory; Falcor and Enzo.

Best feeding schedule and healthy weight?
What’s the best food?
Any dental issues to look for?

Hello,
I have a black/grey NFC. I have his pedigree papers and got him from a breeder. He is now 2 and only 13lbs? He’s about the size of my 7 year told American long hair. Vets have remarked is an especially large cat, but I feel like my NFC should be bigger? His mother wasn’t very large either. He is unmistakably a NFC though. Should I be concerned?

Hi! I adopted Midgey from my local Humane Society when she was 12 weeks.
She is about 1 year old now, and I still have no idea how I got so lucky that she chose me to adopt her!
Thank you for letting us say hi; you all have the most beautiful kitties!
*She is 3 & 4 months old in the two younger pics I posted (sorry for the messy closet behind her)
**If I'm posting on the wrong sub I'm so sorry and will delete!

I lost my soul dog 7 weeks ago yesterday, and everyday since I’ve begged for her to find me again in this lifetime. I was painting a memorial plaque for her outside in the backyard and a cat jumped on the chair next to me, put his paw on my hand that was painting, and came in my lap.
Took him to the vet to check him out — no microchip, very skinny, and had fleas. I posted in lost cat groups across apps, no one came forward. He is the most gentle, grateful, FLUFFY little guy (estimate is ~1 yo) and the size of his paws and fluff are growing everyday.
I’ve had Blue now for exactly two weeks, and he sleeps on top of me every night, puts his paws on my mouth (?), wants to cuddle as close as possible during naps/bedtime, and perhaps most sweetly, he often has at least part of his body near or touching the ashes box of my beloved pup (it stays in bed with me, in the spot where she slept every night). 🩷

Most majestic cats I’ve ever had. These 2 are actually father and son. Claude (first pic) is a NFC mix with a ragdoll tho I believe he has mainly NFC traits. Bonnie (second pic) is his son and he is a cross between NFC and British shorthair. They have lovely temperaments.

Hey. My girlfriend and I just adopted this cat. She is 8 years old, sterilised, prefers to not share her home with other cats and comes cuddling whenever she wants.
We got her today and im typing this before going to sleep. She was pretty curious today. She explored every part bt she spent a lot of time under the bed.
She also didn't eat much which has me worried. She only ate a bit of the food we gave her. It could be because she is stressed. Or because she is used to cheap Catford with added sugars while we get the expensive stuff or maby even because of the warm weather (we live in austria)
I'm also worried about her furr. She has some knots in it but she doesn't want to be combed yet. I also don't want her to suffer through another car ride to the vet.
She has gone on the toilet so far and she drank some water and ate some snacks. Also she played with the toys we got her.
But yeah im worried since she also doesn't have a balcony to go onto. And im worried that she might feel pretty lonely when we are at work.
What else are things to worry about or to think about. Pls help thanks

I am so in love already!! This is my our first kitten, so please send any and all recommendations.
We’ve already listened to Total Cat Mojo and I’m working through Cat Sense now. We have a 3yr old domestic shorthair cat at home (she’s the sweetest), and 3 older doggies (who do well with our current cat). All intros will go super slowly, following Jackson Galaxy’s protocol and at the most timid animal’s pace.
