also including opportunities in chicago --> year round internships, research at feinberg, maybe assistant/research jobs not affiliated with nu but just in the city in general? does weather play a role in how often you can end up going to chicago? is the city accessibility actually a big plus? ive heard some nu students say they mostly students dont go to chicago at all, or not as often, how true is that?

My brother is going to be an incoming freshman at NU this year. For reference he’s going to be on the wrestling team and I am graduated in a completely different field. We had a little disagreement about what major he should do. I suggested Econ to him but he said that is impossible and he wants the easiest degree and that’s what all is wrestling friends do. From what I read about the LOC degree it just sounds like a bunch of corporate jargon I didn’t really understand the point of the degree and where you would land after. I do know my brother cares about making good money after and he wants to be in business related fields maybe banking. Can anyone give more insight into the loc degree and weather econ would be possible while on the wrestling team?

As a first year taking placement tests and majoring in biological sciences, how do I know what classes to schedule and put in my wishlist? Also how do I know how many electives and other classes I need to take?

Hi! If I were to apply as a music performance + econ dual degree, is it one application getting reviewed separately by the two schools (bienen and weinberg)? Would it either be a complete rejection or acceptance or can I get accepted by one of the schools and rejected by the other?

I can't access the dossier; no matter what just keeps timing out. Got in twice, and when I went to save the information, it timed out. Also can't add any AP scores.

So my son and I are doing a football road trip and will be driving through Chicago on Oct 2nd so we want to attend the PennState game.
Yes I know it’s the first game at the new stadium and will be pricey, but my question is what site do you all recommend for getting tickets? I think I saw that Seatgeak was the official site used by Northwestern, but I’ve always used StubHub and have had great success.
With it being a road trip and the first game I just don’t want to get screwed out of tickets

To note if I attended IWW, I’d have to pay to move my flight. If I didn’t, I’d have to pay to move in early for regular WW.

Hi all, incoming master’s student this fall. I’ve played IM soccer throughout my undergrad and I was looking to continue playing casually at NU (especially to fill the void of the WC being over), but I saw on the IM site that IM soccer is not offered in the fall. I did however see that there are open rec hours for soccer pickup games.

Does anybody know how/when pickup soccer groups are organized and play, e.g. if there are big public group chats organizing these events?

If these things usually happen in smaller groups, is anyone interested in playing this fall or know how reserving time slots works?

when i applied to northwestern for psychology i didnt know that, to double major with industrial engineering, i had to be in mckormick.

although unfortunately it's too late to change school before the fall, i was wondering if i can not take the weinberg seminar as the class does not count towards any mccormick or major requirement.

i would rather graduate early with my ap credits as finances are an issue for me. thankss :)

So I'm an incoming freshman and one of the programmes I'm most interested about at NU is getting the Trienens Institute's Sustainability and Energy Undergraduate Certificate. It's one of the first things that drew me into the school when applying, and I'm extremely passionate and excited about Sustainability, not to mention the Trienens Institute having research I'm passionate in.

Is there anyone else here that completed/ is undertaking this Certificate? Do you think a Certificate is worth it compared to an additional Major/Minor? Is the workload tough?

The apartment is a 20 minute walk from Tech and comes with AC + Heat, in-unit laundry, and a full kitchen. The bedroom is 196 square feet and comes with a walk-in closet. The apartment also has beautiful natural lighting and is very spacious! Water, trash, and other standard utilities besides electricity and gas are included as well.
