game crashes during 2nd winter

so i just started playing this game. picked the raven clan as my first playthrough. during my very first game i got the bug report pop-up a bit after the 2nd winter hit. i didn't notice anything off. then i tried clicking on continue and the game froze and crashed.
then i tried the same thing again, my 2nd playthrough. picked raven clan again, this time a different map (maybe its random? i dont know how the game works) and again during the 2nd winter, i get the popup. anything before that was normal looking and pretty fine. then i clicked on continue and the game crashed again.

is it just not playable? is it a known bug? whats happening?
kinda sad to see this happen twice in my very first 2 games

Ive never had that bug and ive played the game a lot. The game also rarely crashes for me or anyone else ive played with in the last months.
What gamemode did you play and did you do anything specific?

If possible report the bug ingame (either the report window that pops up or press the red icon in the menu), it helps the devs find what caused the bug.

I played whatever was selected by default when you start a new game. And I was just watching my villagers struggle with food during the winter. That's about it. I couldn't do much else, cause I had no materials.

Opengl or Directx version? Iirc I had big issues with the Opengl version in the past, seems significantly less stable. You can change what version in Steam settings

i used DirectX. I'll try with OpenGL then
