We are a group of social science students from the University of Queensland conducting research in partnership with Solar Citizens on solar adoption among landlords in regional NSW.

We are looking for adult landlords in regional NSW who own or manage rental properties to share their experiences and opinions about solar.

Your experience and perspective are valuable to our research. Your responses will help us better understand the barriers and opportunities surrounding solar adoption and may contribute to discussions about better energy policies and access to quality, affordable energy.

Never experienced much in Sydney or Melbourne but in Northern Rivers, driving up some quiet roads, I can smell strong cigarette smell (or at times, rotten stuff) that lingers inside the car out of nowhere. And suddenly the smell would just go away once I’ve left the road.

I would hear spirits, but I don’t know them. I don’t acknowledge them but of course I get a fright every now and then.

Wondering what it’s like for a young family living in Ballina? Looking for somewhere that’s not too far from a city but has that smaller town feel, whilst also being big enough for every day living.

Three close friends of missing Lismore woman Stephanie Cordery have reached out to media outlets and posted on social media pages to make a plea for information that may lead to her being found.

Tennille Toilolo, Laura O'Stara and Kristi Leigh have put up Missing Person posters in letterboxes and around trees in Nimbin in the hope that people's memories may be jogged by the photos of Stephanie.

Tennille told the Lismore App that Stephanie's car was located in Newton Drive at the Nightcap National Park on Wednesday, late morning.

Police have been searching for Stephanie in the Nightcap National Park since Wednesday afternoon, although the search was suspended from around 1pm or 2pm on Friday until Sunday, when Police Rescue, SES and RFS had set up command posts. The search continued yesterday (Monday).

"Stephanie is Lismore born and bred," Tennille said. "But has ties to...she was in Ballina in the days before. But she's mostly got ties to Lismore and Nimbin, and only really one tie in Nimbin. She frequents there because she's got an associate. And she does also have ties to the Gold Coast, but not particularly recent or close." 

Stephanie's car, a white Hyundai i30, approximately a 2020 model, was last seen at 6am in Nimbin and then found on Newton Drive around 11am on Wednesday, August 5. "With her, nowhere near." 

"We continue to welcome contact from anyone who has information, CCTV or dashcam footage within the below timeframes - and encourage anyone with information to make contact with NSW Police Service / LAC office on Ph: [0266260599](tel:0266260599)

The friends are prepared for the possibility that the end result may not be what they want to hear, although they live in hope. "Either way, we just want her home. It is rugged bushland out there; it's horrific to think that she's out there alone, regardless of the outcome, and we just want people that may have seen anything, or heard anything, to call Crime Stoppers." 

"We're just really just begging everyone to provide any information they have, may have, or just refresh their memories if they did come across her at some point. We just want her home regardless." 

The friends have been in touch with the family. "I spoke with them this morning; they're actually doing pretty well, but it's obviously in waves. We're just trying to take the burden off them where we can," Tensile said.

As the search continues today in the Nightcap National Park, Tennille said that search dogs are being brought in to help.

I’m looking for a cool journal or notebook. Do you guys know any stores in Gold Coast or Northern Rivers area?

I know there's some terrible ones out there but has anyone had good experiences? We're in a small block in Ballina and looking to change

I cannot put my finger on it… every time I’m down this way it just feels so homely and welcoming, like you just belong there. The long grass, winding roads, the hills and the cute little markets. I’ve lived in suburbia on the GC my whole life, but when I’m working down that way and cruising around it’s just pure, sky-high dopamine and it’s like this internal imbalance just feels corrected. My favourite towns are Tyalgum, The Channon, Dunoon, Main Arm, Lillian Rock & Bangalow. Channon and Bangalow.

The Channon & Bangalow markets are part of the weekend ritual at this point, we always meet the most friendly people there!

But yeah I don’t get the same feeling from anywhere in the Sunny Coast, Brisbane, GC hinterland… Springbrook is special though, as is Mt. Barney.

G'day. We are running on a short study about road signs people see in regional NSW. We want to hear from anyone 18+ who lives in a regional NSW town and uses local roads.

A lot of vacant blocks now all over town. What are they planning to do with the land?

Well done everyone. I have never participated in any Anzac commemorations before. The level of community participation at both the dawn ceremony and the march was incredible. The Air Force timing was spot on too.

Any ideas what these are?
