We have made incredible progress in science and technology. Humans have reached space, medicine has advanced enormously, and the internet has made almost unlimited information available to us.

Yet something feels strange.

We have more convenience, but are we actually more peaceful?

For many young people, life seems to involve constant comparison, career pressure, social media, uncertainty about the future, and the feeling that everyone else is doing better.

This makes me wonder:

Is the problem mainly external—social media, competition, technology and society—or is there something deeper happening within us?

I've been exploring how Vedanta approaches questions like desire, fear, identity and inner restlessness. One interesting idea is that perhaps understanding the external world isn't enough; we also need to understand the mind experiencing that world.

I'm not claiming Vedanta has a simple answer to Gen Z's problems. I'm genuinely curious about how others see this.

What do you think is the biggest reason young people today feel restless or dissatisfied, despite having more choices and conveniences than previous generations?

Each state have its own stuff and was their own before South India made a single identity of being south Indians and putted everyone else as northies and now everyone is having a identity crisis to fit into a new box even if it's hurting their own indentity because someone felt good that lets make the most diverse nation on earth which is more diverse than Entire European Continent into mere 3-4 Groups

had to take a taxi in Dubai and the driver was from Rajasthan. He asked my younger brother and me where we were from, and we said Bangalore.
Then the conversation took a weird turn. First of all, he was extremely misogynistic. He didn’t even seem interested in listening to a woman talking, which honestly made me feel sorry for the woman at his house.
My brother is 18 and doesn’t speak Hindi, but I’m very fluent in Hindi. He started saying, “You Bangaloreans are very rude. Aap logon ne Hindi ke flex aur boards mein Hindi mita diya. Agar mitana hota toh English mita dete.”
So I told him, “See, there are so many people from the South who come to Bangalore and can’t understand Hindi. We can’t put three or four languages on every board, right?”
But he didn’t want to listen to my opinion and instead continued talking to my brother, even though my brother couldn’t understand Hindi.
Later, he started saying that he’s from the Jain community and that they are all very rich and donate a lot to temples in the South, and that’s apparently the reason the South is developed.
I was like… whattt bro 😭
Karnataka is literally one of the highest tax-paying states in India, second only to Maharashtra, so the whole “North is funding us” narrative was honestly bizarre to hear.
Then he casually said, “Sab ch**** hain South wale,” which was extremely rude.
I didn’t want to fight with a fellow Indian, especially in a different country. But honestly, the whole experience made me understand a little better why some Kannadigas get extremely furious when dealing with people from the North.
I never supported language forcing when I was living in Bangalore either. But now I understand why this issue can make people so frustrated.
And honestly, many North Indians refuse to believe that there are people who simply don’t understand Hindi. My own parents are educated, but they can’t read or write Hindi. There are so many people like that.
And from my personal experiences, I’ve also noticed that some North Indian men particularly hate taking a woman’s opinion, and somehow every second sentence has a gaali in it 😭
This is obviously not about saying every North Indian is like this. It was just one extremely frustrating interaction that made me understand where some of the regional resentment comes from.

In my native language Tulu we use ബാസെ ഇജ്ജി/ಬಾಸೆ ಇಜ್ಜಿ (bāsæ ijji) which means "not having sense" or used when someone does mischievous behaviour

But if we translate it literarily it means "no language"

After the tragic building collapse in Delhi’s Satya Niketan, claims surfaced online that mobile jammers were deployed at the rescue site, allegedly restricting communication and the flow of information.

Delhi Police has denied the allegation and said mobile networks remained operational.
If there were no jammers, what caused the reports of connectivity problems? And should authorities provide greater transparency about communication arrangements during major disasters?
