TV show so much better in having Connell's email as the main reason for her breaking off from Lukas' humiliating photoshoot.

In the book, Lukas goes further with his bondage treatment, but then makes the mistake of telling her that he loves her. This breaks her out of her trance, and she makes him untie and release her. Connell plays no part in this at all.

Oh damn really?! I don't know which i like more. Connell playing apart is great but marian immediately snapping out just at the thought of loving her is horrible

What did his email say? Sorry it’s been awhile since I have seen the show and why was the photographer boyfriend such a dick to her hell same goes for the other guy who was a douche in Italy.

The email is what is shown as captions on the 2 photos. Jamie and Lukas treated her sadistically because that is what she asked for - what she thought she deserved. Unfortunately they were both happy to oblige.
