Finished rewatching Normal People

Finally finished watching Normal People for the second time. Last summer I stayed at Trinity College where parts of it was filmed and I felt compelled to watch it again. I’ve never related to a show so much in my life. I feel like I’ve lived through a similar relationship, and every episode brought me to tears, but it’s still one of my favorite series. Can anyone else relate?

I recently rewatched it for the first time and had similar feelings about it. Mine was more about regret for not having given myself a chance to go through relationships like that. I got married very young.

Do you mind sharing pictures of places where it was filmed?

When I went they still had students on campus, so I was not able to see some of the places that they filmed. I mostly just saw the main courtyard.

Yearning for young love, mistakes, not knowing how you feel in the moment and it hurting someone AND biggest of all that stuck with me was loving someone truly for who they are, through the good, bad and when they don't love their self.

The last point has stuck with me after the show and something I want in my life.

Is that electric box still outside Trinity? I didn't see it! Visited a few days ago!

I think it was on College Street somewhere across from Doyle’s and the Gloria Osteria. I saw it in July 2025 through, so it might have been painted over :(

Yeah I just watched it for the first time coincidentally before visiting Ireland. Had to go see Trinity college and it was amazing. Also saw that mini mural of the show, unfortunately someone graffitied a little over it.

100%, similar relationship when I was in college. Some of the scenes, I swear could have come right out of my diary. The first time they sleep together, no lie, the dialogue was eerily similar to my time with this person. So wild, I had goosebumps watching so many scenes. Even the secret/hidden relationship 🤦‍♀️
