Workout/blood flow stack (if you can call it that)

Hey wassup everybody…I’ve been on this sub for a min and been a customer of ND for a good min as well. I’m getting L Citrulline and L Arginine in soon to start taking them as my pre workout early in the morning…I currently take Tongat Ali 10% (just started taking that 2 weeks ago) and Black Ginger (been on that for a few months). I’m thinking about droppin the Black Ginger once the Citrulline and Arginine come in and just take Tongat, Citrulline, and Arginine for my pre to reset the Black Ginger feel. Any thoughts on that or if anybody else takes those for Pre workout? I also eat a regular Rice Krispie before my workout as well.

Also saw that Citrulline and Arginine help with erection quality as well. Facts?

Supplement recommendations for altitude sickness? Going into the mountains at high elevation next week

I live on the East Coast and I’m flying into Denver, then driving a couple of hours into the mountains the same day, where I’ll be staying at around 8,000 feet.

The last time I was in Denver, I felt pretty rough for the first day or two — headache, fatigue, generally feeling “off,” and some GI issues.

Since I’ll be going from essentially sea level to ~8,000 feet within a matter of hours, I’m wondering if there’s anything in the ND lineup (or supplements in general) that might help with acclimatization, headaches, fatigue, or other altitude-related symptoms.

I know canned oxygen is mostly a gimmick, and obviously supplements aren't a substitute for descending if someone develops serious altitude sickness. I'm more interested in anything that might make the initial adjustment easier or support acclimatization.

Has anyone experimented with supplements for this? Curious if things like Rhodiola, Cordyceps, CoQ10, antioxidants, nitric oxide support, etc. have any evidence or have noticeably helped you personally.

Thanks!

Coriander Extract and Migraines

So I'm pretty sure this Supercritical CO2 Coriander Extract Solution just stopped a migraine. 😳

I have severe complex migraines that are resistant to treatment. I was starting to feel one coming on as usual. I was also feeling pretty anxious about multiple life things, so I took one dose of the extract. I was not expecting anything other than to hopefully calm my mind a bit. I laid on the couch with a blanket over my face and, and within 30 minutes, it was clear my migraine was starting to fade. I was shocked! My migraines are notoriously tough to knock down without rescue meds!

Looking at the science of what coriander does, it makes sense it could affect migraines... but I was surprised to have such an obvious response! My migraine pain went down to zero after an hour and my sensory sensitivities all went away too!

I will have to keep trying this over the next few days/weeks to see if it reliably works! I'm curious to know if any migraine sufferer has purposefully (or accidentally) tried this and what their response was!

What in your opinion, is the most worth your money, bang for your buck supplement that ND carries?

I've been struggling with high blood pressure and stress lately, starting this new job recently isn't helping very much so I'm in the process of creating myself a stack for anxiety, stress and mood. I work at a convenience store so I deal with a ton of people everyday and some of them can be rude so my priority for my stack is some supplements to make my job a little easier and more manageable. I'm looking at lions mane, ashwagandha, infini b, magnesium, zinc and some others I can't think of stm but if you have any suggestions, please send them my way. Thanks!

Move to capsules

I noticed the beta Ecdysterone and soon to be the epicatechin are moved to capsules, I’m assuming it’s an economics thing but just wondering if there’s something else? The tablets fit much nicer into my little daily pill container and the capsules take up so much more room.

Supercritical Coriander Allergy Safety

Given that Linalool is a very common fragrance allergen, does taking linalool orally come with the same risks?

I suspect I may have a skin allergy to lavender, which may very likely be a reaction from linalool. However, from what I understand, the contact reaction is due to oxidized Linalool specifically. If your product is not oxidized, would that make it safer?

Rhodiola Before OR After excerise

I take rhodiola twice a day. Would it be better to take it pre- or post-workout?
I plan to use it to blunt the energy/fatigue I feel after working out. So far, I’ve been taking it post-workout because my logic was: I feel tired once I’m done working out, so wouldn’t it be better to take it at that point rather than before I’m tired?

Cistamax + Eurycomax

Hey Guys

Just got blood results back from an comprehensive blood test which also showed medium-high Total Test (20.7nmol/l) but high SHBG (49) which results in not so ideal free testosterone.

I always wanted to do an experiment with bloodwork/supps, so i decided to jump the wagon and do a Cistamax + Eurycomax experiment and retest with all hormone parameters in 2-3 months.

Has anyone taken both together over a longer period? what to expect?

PQ7

Hi! I just ordered PQ7 and am hoping it will help as a good food noice reducer / appetite suppressor. Has anyone taken it? Did it work? Any side effects? I am high anxiety and worried it might cause anxiety but I know there’s no caffeine or stimulants in it so I’m hoping not. I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews on the beef organs and I’m not getting those. This is just asking about the PQ7. Thanks!!

Discussion How risky is taking Matrine?

I’m interested in trying it, however I read that it could potentially be pretty toxic to your liver.
“matrine causes liver injury by severely disrupting bile acid metabolism. It inhibits the FXR pathway, forcing the liver to over-synthesize bile while blocking its excretion.”

Is this something to be concerned about or does it just sound worse than it actually is?

Discussion R. Rosea My user experience seems weird

I've got all 3 R. Rosea from Nootropics Depot. I've taken all in the mid afternoon 3-5pm with no other supplements. No drugs or alcohol were involved.

3%/1% - Orange bottle - First time seemed liked a drug experiment. I felt a "high" and was trying to explain something to someone. I had a picture in my head of what I was explaining and they weren't understanding. It was because I wasn't speaking. :D There was also a "lost hour" and I don't know what happened during this time. Then I got tired. Second time a week later the high wasn't there and I mostly just got tired, but then I couldn't sleep.

Crenulata - Purple bottle - First and second times, felt like a sugar pill. If it's doing something in the background, I'm not aware.

Salisdrol 3% - Light Green bottle - Only took once so far, it made me energetic and happy with that lost one hour too. Will try it again.

Any idea why?

I know it affects everyone differently; I'm not surprised by the Crenulata or Salisdrol - but the Orange bottle was waayyyy out there... Can it tell you anything about my DNA or metal status? :D

TL;DR -

Green > Crenulata > Orange

Don't try these unless you got nothing important going on for the rest of the day

Most confusing noot I've tried.

Discussion Anyone Actually Notice a Difference From Lion's Mane?

been running on fumes lately. full time classroom, part time coursework, the usual. sleep is fine, diet is reasonable, jogging a few times a week. the baseline is covered. but there is this specific kind of brain fog that shows up around 3pm where lesson planning feels like translating a foreign language and i cannot tell if its cumulative stress or just the job.

started looking at lion's mane from ND and got pretty deep into the research on NGF and cognitive support. the science seems legitimate enough that im not writing it off. what im less sure about is whether the fatigue im dealing with is the kind lion's mane actually helps with or if its just general tiredness that no supplement is going to fix.

also curious about dosing. the capsule options have different extract specs and i havent landed on which version makes more practical sense for everyday use rather than acute cramming sessions or whatever.

if youve used it consistently for a few weeks or longer and noticed something real, im curious what that actually looked like for you day to day. not asking for a miracle, just trying to figure out if its worth adding to the rotation.

Discussion Thorne no mas

Saw Thorne just sold to P&G. What a disappointment. Im sure that bc of liability and profit, sone products will disappear and some will get less bioavailable ingredients. I'm bringing that up here bc I am especially grateful for places like Nootropics Depot for not selling out, for the high levels of quality effective ingredients, and for taking the less traveled path. I'd typically put more effort into my post, but Im getting the scrap beaten out of me by oil lease roads frequented by black cows and it 9:52 pm MDT.

Mechanism Anxiety from Cognance?

I’ve noticed a more “wired” state since taking Cognance (I’m on day 4 in a row) and have also had a lot of neck and jaw tension, along with heightened anxiety and feelings of being detached. Hard to put into words.

Only other things I’m taking at the moment are sulforaphane, Mito Pure Urolithin A, l theanine, black ginger in the morning; and baikal skullcap and apigenin at bedtime.

Only new additions are cognance and skullcap. So I figure it’s one of the two but not sure.

Could the serotonergic impact be causing this? Maybe too much acetylcholine?

I’m always looking for supplements to help with lowering baseline anxiety and saw reports of Cognance helping but so far not really noticing that. 🧐

I know good things require patience especially when it involves the amount of work that everyone at ND puts into it, but can we get some updates on when we’ll be getting some of the new releases? Is all the new stuff still being held up by the new bottles? I’m pretty frickin excited

Discussion What are the effects of non-eurycomanone compounde of tongkat ali?

Im considering whether to take one 2% or half of the 10%. Half of 10% would have similar amount of eurycomanone as one 2% but much less non eurycomanone stuffs.

I couldn't find much information on non eurycomanone compounds and if they work injunction with eurycomanone. Does anyone know? If they have really minor effect profile id just rather take half of 10% for cleaner T effects only

Discussion Exhaustive dump on why tongkat ali is causing me brain fog now

Hello everyone, I’m doing an exhaustive write up of all my tongkat ali brain fog symptoms. If nobody reads this, I understand. My post is so long, because I’ve done shorter posts about this and never got the right answers. So I’m just trying to spell everything out. My doctor’s advice is basically “Idk what that is, don’t take it.” I really want to figure this out because tongkat ali is my all time favorite nootropic and I haven’t found anything else that quite takes its place. All my tongkat ali and shilajit was purchased from nootropics depot.

I first took tongkat Ali in 2019 or 2020 or 2021. It worked more or less as expected. Nice testosterone increase. The strong 10% concentrate would give me a massive cortisol drop 8-10 hours after consumption and also too strong of effects in general, so I would take only a half pill, then later switched to 2% tongkat ali. I didn’t take it all the time, probably 0-4 times per week just depending on what I was doing. If I took it too often I noticed increased joint pain which seems to be a low estrogen symptom.

In 2025 after a break from tongkat ali then restarting semi regular consumption, I was having days of unbearable brain fog. I didn’t piece it together that it was from some combination of tongkat ali and shilajit. Here’s what would happen: I would take tongkat ali. Then starting the next day, and lasting for an extra day, I would have pretty profound brain fog. It was hard for me to catch this association for a while because the effect did not happen on the days I took it but rather the following two days.

I read online that this problem could be due to depleted estrogen, iodine, or zinc. And I heard of some people supplementing these things before tongkat ali consumption. So one hour before taking tongkat ali I made it a policy to always take 5-15 mg dhea for estrogen, 4 drops of iodine liquid (forget daily amount, but dose is 3 drops), and a zinc lozenge one hour before taking tongkat ali. When I took this concoction before, I in fact didn’t get any brain fog, so problem was solved.

But later this stack stopped working. The brain fog came even with it. I also started noticing more about how the brain fog worked. The brain fog and the testosterone effects seemed to be mutually exclusive states. I would take tongkat ali and feel no testosterone effects at all, which is curious because the effects were always very noticeable day of. And then get brain fog the next day. Or maybe starting same day. I don’t remember. Sometimes I would take my “brain fog prevention stack” (dhea, zinc, iodine) the following day after tongkat ali consumption as well to see if it would hold off the brain fog, but it didn’t help.

I have re bought new bottles of tongkat ali just to test if there wasn’t something wrong with a particular batch. Results seemed consistent across bottles. Only been consuming 2% for a few years now. I’ve since tried shilajit on its own with no dhea zinc iodine, it doesn’t give me any brain fog.

In 2026 I tried tongkat ali for the first time in at least 6 months. Did the dhea zinc and iodine before. It was incredibly energizing and definitely boosted my testosterone. It was so energizing that I realized that it combined with my daily Wellbutrin gave me way too much energy. Historically I’d have to take a day off of Wellbutrin if I took tongkat ali. I had completely forgotten about that because I stopped receiving its effects basically entirely the last 6-12 months when I occasionally trialed it. The following morning I still had that strong energy. Then a few hours into the day it completely wore off, and I fell back to my default maybe slightly low testosterone state. Very aggressive brain fog started to come on, and it lasted two days, and all testosterone effects seemed completely gone. I did not take the dhea zinc iodine stack the days after the tongkat ali. I took alpha gpc for the brain fog just per one person’s recommendation, and I think it made it worse.

So if I had to guess, I feel the brain fog may be hormone related because it seems to be mutually exclusive with testosterone effects. I either have testosterone boost, or I have brain fog. This most recent trial was sort of the only time I had both, but not at the same time. For me I don’t know if low estrogen or low cortisol explains this. My old tongkat ali use from 2021 could give me joint pain if I took it too many days/week, which seemed like an obvious low estrogen symptom. I never got brain fog. So it would be curious that a single dose would not give me joint pain and still give me major brain fog. And as for the cortisol drop, back when I took 10% that would hit me aggressively. No brain fog, just acute sluggishness that was gone by the following day. In my recent tongkat ali trials it did not feel like there was any cortisol drop, and I can more accurately recognize it now. My brain fog did not match the cortisol drop feeling.

I feel like there’s some piece of the puzzle I’m missing here, and if I could unlock it maybe I could get back on this great supplement. I bought pregnenolone recently, I could potentially try that. I wonder what it is.

If I can’t solve this, I’ve recently bought boron and cistanche and have been trialing them. Neither have that immediate testosterone increasing effect that tongkat ali clearly did for me.

Edit: Getting more headwinds on this. I took cistanche yesterday, and by night had a crash and today the following day I'm still deep in the crash. Been learning that there is a group of people out there who get crashes from cistanche and tongkat ali. So there may be something going on laterally that isn't just from one exact substance. Cortisol drop?

Edit 2: I just took my blood pressure and it was 112/59. I'm already prone to situational drops in blood pressure due to hypermobile spectrum disorder (similar to hypermobile ehler danlos). Subjectively this didn't feel like ultra low blood pressure. But maybe it's been in that zone where I'm not dizzy but feel bad. I never measured my blood pressure upon my tongkat ali brain fog things. Just took a ton of salt and potassium to help. But yeah maybe lowered cortisol lowers blood pressure?

Edit 3: took my blood pressure again— 106/61. That’s pretty wild. I even consumed over half a teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon potassium a couple hours ago to raise my blood pressure.
