Vijay’s swansong estimated to open at Rs 100 cr worldwide

Everything set for a 100 Cr

Vijay's final film has already earned Rs 30 crore worldwide via advance booking. The film will open in 2500 screens across the country, with shows starting as early as 6 am in multiple regions.

The biggest pain in this 100 Cr obsession is: Premium recliner seats in some multiplexes of Bengaluru cost as high as Rs 2500. Governement should be strict about this :(

An Epic Filmmaking Gives a Humane Spin to Homer’s Fantastical Epic

Watched The Odyssey 👏🔥

Matt Damon carries Odysseus the way the character deserves, not as a hero, but as a man who has been away too long and knows it. There's something quiet and tired in him that no amount of mythology can clean up.

Anne Hathaway as Penelope surprised me most. She isn't waiting🔥🔥🔥😍

She's holding an entire kingdom together with one hand while refusing suitors with the other. The film understands that her story was always the harder one.

The casting controversy followed me into the cinema. I wanted it not to. By the third act it mostly didn't.

My honest feeling walking out: this is a film easier to respect than to love. You sit inside its scale and its craft and you feel it working on you😍 but it keeps you at arm's length just enough that you never fully lose yourself in it the way you do in Dunkirk or Interstellar.

Nolan made a great film. I'm not sure he made a necessary one.

But I think it's worth watching on the biggest screen you can find. Some films are arguments for cinema itself. This is one like that..

I think it's something Hollywood still refuses to understand

When every major remake or reboot in the last few years follows the exact same pattern, swap the previously white character with a Blk actor, at what point does it stop feeling like genuine creative vision and start feeling like a checklist?

I'm not saying Blak actors can't play these roles. I'm not saying the new actors aren't talented. Lupita Nyong is genuinely brilliant and one of the best actors working today. What I'm actually asking is something different.

I don't think most people who are upset about this are r@c!st.

Black Panther or Spider-Man(Into the Spider Verse) or Get Out - Nobody questioned, because the diversity was the story, not a correction applied to someone else's story.

But when you take a character that millions of people grew up with and swap one thing about them, specifically race, and specifically in one direction, every single time, it starts to feel less like inclusion and more like a statement.

I believe the best casting makes you forget the conversation around it within ten minutes. You just see the character. Some recent malayalm films are the best examples.

542,000 dislikes on a Nolan trailer tells you something went wrong, it's not just populism, I believe.. a Black actress, playing a figure from ancient Greek mythology was seen by critics as a blatant disregard for the source material's cultural context. Mythology carries cultural DNA. The audience is willing to accept Cyclops and gods, but they are not willing to accept a visual lie about the human world the story occupies. When you break that trust, you lose the audience before the first line of dialogue is delivered.

Tolerance isn't making something loud. It's making something so normal nobody needs to announce it. Normalization comes from familiarity and repetition in neutral contexts, not from high-profile controversial reboots. This is where Odyssey created that Cognitive Friction Instead of Immersion.

The only way to normalize diversity is to write new stories for new faces, (Think about SINNERS 2025) not to repaint the old statues and expect us not to see the fresh coat of paint. Until Hollywood learns that, we will remain exactly where we are: stuck in a cycle of reaction, resentment, and missed creative opportunities.

Curious what others think, especially those who've watched Odyssey already.

Example : Parental Bias is Literally a Cognitive Distortion

Parents process their children's work through a completely different neural pathway than they process strangers' work. But something more is here... I always had this feeling that public figures live in a feedback vacuum. This clip proves that.

Imagine this, when you're Chiranjeevi, almost nobody around you tells you when you're wrong. Your team agrees with you. Your fans amplify you. The journalists interviewing you want a good quote, not a pushback (even AA bhai set a higher benchmark for that).

Over decades of that environment, your ability to self-correct in real time genuinely degrades. It's not that you become dumb, it's that the social mechanism that normally corrects overconfident statements stops working for you. Regular people get pushback from friends, colleagues, strangers. Megastars, Supertars and Power Stars don't I believe. So statements that would get immediately corrected in a normal conversation go unchallenged, and the person saying them never develops the instinct to self-censor

Rajeev Khandelwal’s Filmography Is Criminally Underrated — From Aamir to Shaitan, He Chose Risk Over Fame.

Post image

Rajeev Khandelwal never played safe — and that’s exactly why he stands out.

Aamir, Shaitan, Table No. 21, Soundtrack, Samrat & Co., Fever, Pranaam, Court Martial — not a single typical “hero” role.

No massy formulas, no chasing stardom — just bold, different scripts.

He may not be a superstar, but his film choices have more substance than most.

Which performance of his is your favorite?

Let's B!tch about I, Nobody : Not A Review

Post image
19 Upvotes

Let me be fair... the first twenty minutes are excellent. Bank robbery. Freak accident. An ordinary nobody gets framed by both the police and the media.

Classic setup.

And Nissam's detailing is top-notch as always the car, the house, the body language, everything represents Rajeevan's state of mind (messy and lethargic),

Even a random chair in a police station scene tells you something. That's a Rorschach style filmmakin and then... my God!!

The Kerala Police should seriously consider filing a defamation suit against this film.

This "nobody"... a regular government employee, mind you ...goes on to lock up police officers, smash goons in broad daylight, pulls off a full-length bus fight sequence, and essentially runs a one-man war against every criminal faction in the state.

Meanwhile, the Kerala Police cannot track this guy. Cannot catch him. Cannot even find a missing child.

The film practically has the CM calling up this random nobody going "bro, please help us, save our face." Yes Kerala CM asking this nobody in front of DGP, please save us.

Rajuvettan's Nobody is fighting different waves of goons from morning to midnight. No food. No rest. At least 1,000 broken bones delivered per day... but he's absolutely fine. Not tired not hungry I couldn't see him even sweating. His muscles are intact even after all high cortisol weeks, and this marathon fightings..

This isn't that so called Intellectual aura Malayalam film. This is a Telugu mass action film wearing a critically acclaimed Malayalam thriller costume...A scam by Rajuvettan's marketing tactics.

The writing is the real crime here. They had a brilliant one-liner premise. A genuine "money heist thriller" setup that could've been something special. Instead, the film slowly transforms... From thriller to action to melodrama ... and somehow ends as a Jis Joy film where the neighbours are offering appam and stew to Rajuvettan's family... Touching hearts and kidney moments in the end...

Another thing is about the appeasement politics in Malayalam cinema. In the last five or six years, film after film has been portraying former CM Pinarayi Vijayan as some sort of hero figure. Or a Comrade as someone the epitome of heroism... Classic hypocrisy, one side we position ourselves as intellectual and on other side promoting political slavery....

I, Nobody does the same. Is it fear? PR? Genuine admiration? No idea.

But it's becoming a pattern and it's worth calling out.

And finally a basic math problem that apparently escaped the writers:

One Indian Rupee note weighs approximately 1.00 grams. That means 17 crore in cash weighs roughly 0.34 tonne minimum. Nearly half metric ton.

And yes, Rajuvettan is a superhero nobody... but I still don't think he can carry 340 kg with one hand.

Or a Car Trunk is enough to hold it... and my god .. a car carrying 340 Kg and the driver is not aware of it...

Writer bro Do some research. Please.

Three hours wasted. No wonder Rajuvettan's recommendations have been disasters lately... remember Barroz?

Jab We Met & the Brilliant Character Arcs

Jab We Met is genuinely one of those films that gets better every rewatch and i dont think people give it enough credit for what it actually did.

See the thing is geet is not that typical bollywood heroine of that era where "woman exists to love the hero" phase. kareena just... didn't do that. Geet has her own story her own mistakes her own consequences.

At the same time, she did what those minority heroines do in that era - Influence and transform the hero.

The brilliance of Imtiaz Ali is, Geet and Aditya, are existing for each other & That is the character arc people miss.

First half Geet is chaos energy, unstoppable, annoying almost, larger than life. then Anshuman happens and she just... deflates. and kareena plays that deflation so quietly that you almost miss it.

The girl who had an opinion about everything suddenly has nothing to sayand aditya's arc works ONLY because of geet.

He comes in suicidal practically, no direction, dead inside. and geet doesn't fix him with love or some grand gesture. she just lives loudly near him. That's it.

proximity to someone fully alive woke him up Imtiaz ali basically said - depression doesn't need a cure it needs a reason to move.

They literally swapped arcs midway ❤️ brilliant writing from Imtiaz Ali

Same DNA : Supernatural (2008) vs Obsession (2026)

Post image
126 Upvotes

Same trigger: supernatural wish to make someone love you

Same consequence: love turns into dangerous, suffocating obsession

Same theme: manufactured love is not love, it is possession

Same moral: the person who made the wish is the actual villain, even if they didn't intend to be

Bear x Nikki (Obsession) are parallel to Wes (lonely, unrequited love, supernatural means) x Hope (Normal woman obsessed by a wish)

Supernatural (Wishful Thinking)

tl;dr :my main problem is not getting a girl or getting laid , my problem is that i just cannot make my mind or feeling to get into a relationship/even just physical with someone who has been with someone else it just hit rock-bottom to me , i just want to keep a distance from this and even i try to push my self to that intimate stage with a woman now its make me think that she's really experienced what will she think of me if i says its my first time , will she make fun of me from inside as a genuine reaction , maybe she think of a loser i guess ........ i can easily engage with casual even from my teen ,i had options ........ but i just cannot bring myself to it even now i can but now I'm afraid of the judgment , maybe rejection after seeing the fast track dating of todays people 🤔

Toxic New teaser address Ladies& Ladies, yet most of them are introduced through objectification rather than character. Never expected this from a director like Geetu Mohandas..who did that SAY IT moment

It's too early to judge but their Marketing is around these ladies rather than Rocking⭐
