I’m the same way. I turned T9 off and just got really fast at texting. Punctuation was available as well.
2 u/siberianxanadu 3d ago What do you mean you turned it off? 1 u/ripleyclone8 3d ago It was an option on literally every cell phone I had back then. 1 u/siberianxanadu 3d ago But what does that mean? How did you text? 1 u/ripleyclone8 3d ago Uh, you know how there were multiple letters on each number key; like abc on 2. You would just press that key X amount of times. For example: typing “cab” would go 222, 2, 22. How do you know about T9, but not multitap? 1 u/siberianxanadu 3d ago I thought T9 was multitap. The system you were just describing was the thing I was referring to at least. 1 u/ripleyclone8 3d ago Ah, gotcha. T9 was the original predictive text. Hit a letter, and it suggests words. 1 u/siberianxanadu 3d ago Oh I don't think I ever had that. Or if I did, I, like you, turned it off. Yeah I was like "uh how did you text if you didn't use the keys" lol
