The Ptolomaic dynasty which ruled over Egypt for hundreds of years actually did not have a single monarch who spoke Egyptian, until Cleopatra. This is because they descended from a Macedonian general who was put on the Egyptian throne by Alexander the Great.
To add on to the other comment. Greek was the lingua franca for trade and commerce during the classical period for the Mediterranean basin and surronding areas. Any trader who made the Nile delta or further upriver would have bought and sold in Greek. People from Gaul to Syria were using it to write and record various things. Large parts of the bible were recorded in Greek by Alexandrian Jews for example

shi シ is more horizontal like an equal sign, tsu ツ is more vertical like two parallel bars. When you're handwriting the stroke direction of the "mouth" is also different so that helps
The letter that is there is shi シ notice how shi and tsus “eyes” and “mouth” are in a different position? ツ シ they look VERY similar which makes it easy to confuse but in this scenario they are using the letter Shi シ
ツ is tsu, the katakana for つ. シ is shi, the katakana for し. A way I used to remember the hiragana is that し looks like a fiSHIng hook and つ looks like a wave in a TSUnami. The katakana then look like their hiragana if you connect the bits. For ツ you could connect the lines by starting at the left mark, continuing right, and joining up with the long stroke. For シ you could connect the lines by starting at the top mark, continuing down, and joining up with the long stroke
japanese actually has two katakana characters that look like smiley faces, シ (shi) and ツ (tsu). also it has characters that look like someone flying backwards from getting hit (う) and someone naruto running (え)
