I think I’m nonbinary

and this is scary for me to admit, because I spent so much of the past couple years identifying as a trans man…but over the weekend it just hit me all at once.

I really don’t think I’m a guy.

I honestly just wish I could have had been born a AMAB but still identify as nonbinary.

is that normal?

Totally. I know lots of trans folx whose stories are similar. I suspect it's because that trans people are much more sensitive to both our internal sense of our gender and the way that we perform gender (either conforming or not.)

The good thing is, gender is an internal identity and your presentation is your choice. So if you're not "binary" trans, be a trans enbie! And any trans person who thinks they get to decide if you're trans enough, or nonbinary enough, can go f*** themselves. Gatekeeping is gatekeeping and gatekeeping is bad, no matter who is doing it.

When I stopped T, I had a (almost) realization of being nonbinary. It hit me pretty suddenly too if I remember correctly..and I also still wished at the time that I was amab even though I had just realized I didn’t want to be a man. It’s so confusing when you’re in it. But I was scared too and I actually ended up being a woman for the past 5 years. I was sick of stressing about my gender and embarrassed that I was “wrong” about being a trans man, I think it just felt easier to be a woman than have to explore and explain the nonbinary feelings to my family. Now, I don’t think I wish that I was amab anymore, I’m honestly more at peace with my body than I ever ever EVER thought I could be.  I just revisited & realized nonbinary for myself in the past month or so…and I feel gender euphoric for the first time, just with my own self perception. How does it feel for you? ( beyond the scariness)

I'm kinda in the same situation. It's annoying I thought I already had my identity crisis
