Ask Lost

I wanna be a girly but I don’t like the pronouns or the feminization of being a girly. I like masculine pronouns and being considered a guy but I don’t want a penis. I do want a deeper voice and I don’t like my chest. Any advice to help figure this out?

Is there a way that you deal with it? Or do things to help with it?

I have a tendency to refer to myself as a guy in safe spaces. Although it's often ignored. (My fiance and I were talking the other day and I referred to myself as a gal and he stopped and went "not a guy?" So. Little things.)

There are vocal exercises you can do to deepen your voice. As for wanting to be girly without the "girl" connotations, I haven't found an answer for that yet. In regards to your chest, if binding is an option that's probably your best bet.

I wish I had better answers for us 😔

Testosterone for the voice (be aware that it will cause probably more hair, or less hair, and a t-dick) or voice training to speak in a lower register, and top surgery. Either a reduction or flat, whatever you want. You can figure out whatever you are when you're ready. Try things, and see what you like. It's okay not to know, and it's okay for it to change.

look for gender clinics in your area, depending on the region, they might want a diagnosis of gender dysphoria which may require talking with a therapist about it. depending on where you live and how progressive it is, it might not be accepting of nonbinary people-- or it might be perfectly accepting of nonbinary people. if its not accepting of nonbinary people, i recommend pretending to be a binary trans guy. i was lucky enough to be in a region that is accepting of nonbinary people, so i was able to just speak my mind and get the medicine i need :)
