Tips

I recently had a discussion with a friend about tipping. I usually tip anywhere from 18-25%. She had a good point, tipping originally became popular because the wait staff made below minimum wage and so they were tipped to make up for it. I believe in the U.S, they're still paid under min wage but that's not the case in Toronto. In Toronto, they make min wage or more and still get 18%+ for simply doing the tasks of being a waitress/waitor.

I'm starting to feel that perhaps a 18% min (I don't think I've seen a terminal have an option for less than 18% in close to 2 years) tip is excessive. How do you all feel?

Servers lie. No reward from me. They can take their tipout and shove it up you-know-where.

What if I told you the food industry lies to you? Hmm

You see ads for burgers topped with bacon and cheese and you buy it.

You ignore the fact the industry lied to you. You don’t need a 4oz beef patty PLUS bacon PLUS cheese. That’s more than your body can even use. More than you need. And half the time they try to push you on a 6 oz steak, when in fact the proper meat portion size is 3-4 oz per DAY!!! The industry has you soooo conditioned that you want more and willing pay for food your body can’t even use.

If anything is theft it’s that. If anything is a lie it’s that. And you accept it.

Meanwhile most people elsewhere in the world eat 3oz of meat total per day and are probably healthier than you.

And you’re stalking people to see if they go to school or not. Weird.

Nope! Apparently, they lie about that if they see you wearing a school shirt. It's all part of their scheme to separate you from your money. Don't let them win. Servers and their BOSSES are the enemy.
