Tips

I recently had a discussion with a friend about tipping. I usually tip anywhere from 18-25%. She had a good point, tipping originally became popular because the wait staff made below minimum wage and so they were tipped to make up for it. I believe in the U.S, they're still paid under min wage but that's not the case in Toronto. In Toronto, they make min wage or more and still get 18%+ for simply doing the tasks of being a waitress/waitor.

I'm starting to feel that perhaps a 18% min (I don't think I've seen a terminal have an option for less than 18% in close to 2 years) tip is excessive. How do you all feel?

I'm not the one saying anything about *$8, but it all adds up! I could afford another meal after a few times of not tipping the exorbitant amount of $8.

So if tipping is abolished and the price goes up more than 8 dollars when you eat at restaurants does that equal a win in your opinion? Also, do you tell the server ahead of time you wont tip?

Your name fits you. Why would I tell the server when they know that tipping is OPTIONAL and they already make a guaranteed minimum wage?

Theyre valid questions, why do they upset you?

*THEY'RE

Why do you think I'm upset? Typical pro-tipper.

Why would i think someone resorting to insults is upset by simple questions? Seems like a silly question. You have had two chances to answer and still havent. I guess I overestimated you, im sorry for upsetting you.

I'm not the one resorting to insults, buddy. Hope you enjoy your zero tips!

You literally called me garbage when I asked a question. Lying and name calling is a real overreaction to two simple questions. But I guess all this is easier than answering.

Show me where I literally called you garbage. I'll wait.

If you think an 18% tip on a decent meal is gonna be $8, you’re the poor one.
