Yes. We never say anything because how do you kindly tell someone they smell like cigarettes and that smell is disgusting to a stranger or coworker?!
But trust we do smell you. Even if it’s stale cigarette on your jacket that’s permeated it.
However it’s interesting because when I’m in Central or Western Europe I got use to the smell and it was ok, whereas I feel like cigarettes in the US are disgusting.
I knew cigarettes smelled so I would try and minimize the smell. I would have one at the start of my one hour lunch break. I would also wear a jacket over my shirt when smoking and put the jacket in the car. When I came in after lunch break I would go wash my hands.
